"Go away old lady!" If Martina was old; what does this make Venus and Serena hanging on like vampires? We're supposed to feel sorry for them I guess because they're aging; NOT!

She doesn't have to go away. You go away if you're not interested in watching. All you do is complain about them. I don't like some of the men players, but I would never wish injury or retirement on anyone.

Sorry for the way Venus ended her Australian Open but that's Leif - an egg and a bread stick but she finished the match. Get well Venus. Errani played well as you can see from the stats below:

As potentially the grumpiest old man on these forums (and there is competition,) you should look in the mirror. What's terrible about still playing when you love the game and can compete well? Today she was injured. But I, for one, am happy to have Venus and Serena still around. Vampires?! Go back to your black and white reruns of matches from the '70s.

Impressive performance from Iga Swiatek defeating Giorgi 62 64 she will play Fiona Ferro in Rd 3

Note.....Her dress is too dowdy for such a young player.....makes her look like she is in one of her grandmother's dresses .:)

Naomi Osaka continues her fine form with a 62 1st set win over Caroline Garcia

Simona Halep is not getting her own way and is being pushed by Aussie Tomljanovic 4 games all 1st set,Tomljanovic has had chances to win the 1st set her fhand has let her down on BP conversions.

Sorry Hoergren. Nothing for Ajla to be proud about. It’s an issue for her to give away matches from a winning position. It’ll keep happening until she sees someone about it. It holds her back from moving up the rankings and utilizing her gifts.

Tuning into Ash Barty's match vs Daria Gavrilova

Ash won the 1st set 61.

Ash broken first game of the 2nd set,her serve was way off and she has her left thigh heavily bandaged.Gavrilova serve is woeful and Ash gets the break straight back.I know that Garia has been off the tour for awhile due to injury I wish her coach would teach her not to 'Bob her head on shots, you head should remain still when contact with the ball' maybe she should watch Serena for starters.I am looking at you Nicole Pratt to rectify this bad habit.Gavrilova has over done 'the slice' due to her weak bhand.
Ash breaks and will serve for the match 5-2 as Gavrilova's serve again let her down, another shot she has to work on.
Give me Strength Ash gets broken while serving for match? Ash you won't get much further in the draw when you start having matches against higher seeds, this is not a good all round match from you today. The score does not indicate the level of play in this match.
Ash will try to serve for the match a 2nd time leading 5-4......Ash cannot get a first serve into play?
Daria with 1BP
CRAP Ash gets Broken Again I cannot believe what I am watching from the No 1 player
Ash will try to serve to stay in the 2nd set 5-6 and force a t/breaker
T/break to commence for the 2nd set

Ash saves 2SPs in the t/break and wins 'yes there is a God somewhere' I dont know how Ash injured her left thigh it did hamper her during the match,I am not making excuses she was lucky this match did not go into a 3rd set.

Barty (1) d Gavrilova (WC) 61 76(7)

Barty presser on court says she is not bothered with the large strapping on her left upper thigh.
