I was on day shift and just got home

Congratulations to Jess Pegula this young lady has had soo many setbacks in her career,knee surgery,hip injuries and now she has had her first Top 10 win (in seven tries) and takes out the No 5th seed E.Svitolina 64 36 63.....a great ball striker and she has been playing some solid tennis,also defeated 2 time AO champion Victoria Azarenak.Jess's reward is a q/final spot.

Another American who does well Down Under is Jennifer Brady who defeated D.Vekic (28) 61 74,to also make the q/finals.

Jess Pugla will play fellow American Jennifer Brady in a q/final

Just tuning into Mertens vs Muchova
Mertens has started well in this match who opens up a 4-0 lead
Muchova has settled down and gets one of the breaks back she is a great mover around the court,has a lot of variety in her game
Mertens will serve for the 1st set 5-2
Muchova breaks to love and will serve 3-5
Mertens will try again for the 2nd time to serve out the set 5-4
We have seen this before from Muchova (Pliskovsa match) she breaks again and levels the match 5 games all,with some great defense and offense
Mertens will now serve to force a t/breaker in the 1st set 5-6
6 games all t/break for the 1st set.
Amazing turnaround for Muchova being down love 4 on serve and to win the 1st set 76(5) Elise had 2 attempts of serving out the first set.Muchova played a solid t/breaker with defense and great offense.

I am now going to watch Ash Barty vs Shelby Rogers.............I will keep my eye on the score of Muchova vs Mertens

Barty opens up a 4-1 lead in the 1st set,turning defense into offense,all court movement has been great.
Neither player so far has not dropped a set.
Barty will serve for the 1st set 5-3
Barty 6-3 in 1/2 hour.

Barty breaks early in the 2nd set and consolidates 3-1.Ash has really got her 'game face on' she is making Shelby work for every point.
Barty breaks again she is in full control of this match 4-1
Barty serving for the match 5-2,broken which came out of nowhere,a bit too hesitant, made too many UFE and Rogers made her pay
Barty will once again serve for the match 5-4 and for a place in the q/finals
Barty d Rogers 63 64 and will play Karolina Muchova in the q/final
