Medvedev gets a bit crabby, Martinez gets aggressive, and he gets the break back. Pretty good showing so far, for being so overmatched. Probably still be Meddie in straights, but kind of fun, so far.

I am rooting for Bolt to take out Thiem here! I just do not want Nadal to face Thiem right before Medvedev!

Nadal has had so much bad luck with injuries at the Australian open he should already have at least 5 titles there! So hopefully there will be many upsets and he will cruise to the title without any effort because then justice would be served.

Thiem gets the break in the 4th set but he seems like he is physically sick or just playing possum. Either way, this match will go to a 5th set.

Yup, Bolt just donated the second break to Thiem there. This will go to a 5th set...

No love for Thiem?

I do not hate Thiem. It's just I have a gut feeling that the potential Nadal-Thiem QF match will be physical and that will be bad for Nadal especially if he has to face Medvedev in the SF.

I think Nadal will beat Thiem in the QF, my worry is how physical the match will be between those two players.

Sad to say my Aussie has 'hit a brick wall' in the 5th set' still a good fight he has put up against Theim,as a player I cannot warm to him at all.,some think about his persona leaves me cold.

Monfils wins the second set in a tiebreak over Karlovic 7-6(8). Best 2 out of 3 in that match.

I understand your concerns.
But we will see, they will meet in QF for sure. When austria shows up like this, it will not be that physical. Also Daniil will not stop Nadal.
Your biggest wish has to be: Roger stopping Novak in SF.

Kyrgios looks focused against The Wolverine, takes the first 6:2. If can reach randezvous with Rafa, that should be a hell of a match.
