Nadal looks like shit. He hasn't looked good this year at all after a very promising end of the year at the Davis Cup where he looked unplayable. Honestly don't see him winning this tournament at all, and I predict he won't make the finals.
I think part of it is the court and part of it is he probably played too much tennis at the ATP Cup period.
I'm not sure I've met too many who do like it (fans anyway) - agreed it's too much pre-AO.Way too much yes. I'm one of the few who doesn't like the ATP cup. It's much too intense this early in this season and this close to the first major.

There was a near stampede of Karen Khachanov fans running for the Melbourne Bars to celebrate.
Am I the only guy on earth who likes KK?
I agree. The Millman can give Roger a run for his money. He has beaten him before. With the Roger of nowadays, the Millman has a good chance. Roger has lost his sparkle.
Don’t write him off, he’s the biggest fighter of all of them.Nadal looks like shit. The Millman beat Federer at the US Open in 2018, and I remember donkeys flew.Millman will beat Federer at this tournament when pigs fly.
For what it's worth, I agree with Britbox...I don't know that much of anyone liked the ATP Cup. Even the players said you can't have that and Davis Cup, too. And yes, too much at the beginning of the year. Anyway, agreed that Nadal is far off his best, just when he was looking so good at the end of last year. Much to improve.Way too much yes. I am with you, I’m a Nadalfan and rooting for him until the final. as long as Novak is in the tournament you can count on me/that fact. While Nadal definitely needs to improve his game especially his break point conversion, part of the reason he is struggling to find his rhythm is the court conditions. I have heard that the courts are "dead" after being used for a while and players are struggling to keep up with their own rhythm. It is why you are already seeing a lot of 5th set tiebreakers in this tournament. I do wonder if it will continue like this or not.
If I were being pessimistic here (I often not that pessimistic), but it looks like Nadal will have to go through Kyrgios/Thiem/Medvedev just to reach the finals. Even if Nadal is playing well, that lineup will be tough for him physically! On the other hand, those three players are not necessarily are playing spectacular tennis either so I would not be surprised if Nadal beats all of them.
