Ladies singles QFs,
Gauff (3) vs Badosa (11) H2H 3all 2024 meeting Gauff won both matches which went to 3 sets.

Gauff is one of the favorites to win this year's AO title, she happens to be one of mine anyway, so far she has managed her way through the draw, she did drop one set to Bencic, but recovered well to win in 3 sets. Badosa has a game that can trouble Gauff, though I feel this match could come down to who has the better defense, thats where I feel Gauff shines. Gauff in 3 sets.

Sabalenka (1) vs Pavlyuchenkova (27) H2H 2-1 Pav, last time they played was in 2021, before Saba became a GS champion

I love watching the pure ball striking of Pavs, which she can hit from both sides of the tennis court.
Sabalenka to me has a new level of weight and spin on her shots, something that Pavs hasnt got in her game
I also felt that Saba played the best match of her tournament so far, when she defeated Andreeva in such a clinical fashion
Sabalenka to win

Wut! Just came in and saw the scores... Saba will win her 3rd AO. Paula doesn't have a good record against Saba. Once Saba gets to the final, she will take out whoever is there, even Iga.

Paula Badosa will come back into the Top Ten , when you considered she nearly retired due to back fractures, this is great result
I dont know what was going on with Gauff today, ground shots went astray, 41 UFE in 2 sets of tennis. I will wait for her press conference

Hope your wrong !!! Iga's game when she's confident and in full force, is a natural and always fun to watch. Bring on a Sabalenka vs Swiatek final and make it best of 5 :D

sad to read Coco has been eliminated.

A very mature press conference from Coco as usual, just a bad day at the office, sad to say it came at a wrong time being in the QF of a major, she will bounce back! I did have her projected to meet Sabalenka in the SF at the AO this year

This news is to be expected , seeing it has to do with the Australian Open I will post it here,
Elena Rybakina and Goran Ivanisovic have ended their coaching partnership,
"After out trial period that finished with the AO, I wish Elena and her team the best of luck"

I just heard CoCo's out! Shocking! I might watch final if Aryna & Iga make it! Elina & Madison might be nastalgic enough to check out! :fearful-face::yawningface::anxious-face-with-sweat:

Saba vs Pavs QF match has just started with Saba a break already
Pavs has to stop over playing her shots for starters, I understand she is trying to get on 'top of the point' against Saba, is coming unstuck big time, feeling the pressure of the return from Saba
Saba 1st set 62, windy on RLA

This is a tad boring, Saba got this easy. Waiting for men's QF. Is wind a factor today MM, looks a bit windy?

Pavs is standing inside the court more now, wanting to play on the front foot and take time away from Saba, and cutting off the angle from Saba who loves to open up the court, she has to keep this up, as Pavs is a great striker of the ball from both ends
Pavs 4-1 and serving
Okay Saba got one of the breaks back, serving at 2-4
Wow Pavs broke Saba for the 3rd time in the match and will serve for the 2nd set 5-2, Pavs keeping her position inside the court and taking and returning the ball on the rise, Saba over hitting in complete frustration what a turn around from the 1st set
1 set all as Pavs wins the 2nd set 62 going to a 3rd set
Both ladies have taken a toilet break

Pavs has broken back again in the 3rd set leading 2-1, her return has been outstanding since the 2nd set, standing on the baseline, 2nd serve she will stand inside the baseline and not giving Saba any time on the return, great tactics and it is working, Pavs has always had a strong offensive game.
Saba needs to move her around move and open up the court and for goodness sakes be Patient, redirect and take Pavs out of her comfort zone on the baseline.
Saba must of heard me she has broken back 2 games all
Service game to love from Saba she has upped her game with margins, she has the weapons, she just has to use the right ones at times:)
Back to back love holds from Saba leads 4-3 in the 3rd set

...You were saying? Sabalenka in the fight of her life against Pablyuchenkova after splitting sets! Anastasia was up a break in the 3rd, but choked away her own serve twice! Aryna back on serve, 3-2! Novak & Carlos will have to wait a little while longer before their epic clash! :astonished-face::yawningface::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face:
