I just got my power back on after the 1st set, we had a bad electrical storm
Well done Madison I will watch the highlights later, I thought after the 1st set Iga would win

Iga pulled a Draper and didn't call a double bounce on herself. I told you, she should not be winning any sportsmanship awards, period. And now I hope either Maddy or Saba smokes her since it looks like Emma will come up short today...

Agreed, I did not see it until after the fact. But the umpire was close enough and should've picked up on it.

Iga's presser:

Madison's presser (certainly a long one at that, what a season she's having in Oz ) :

I really thought the cooler conditions and the heavier ball played at night would be a big advantage to Iga,, Madison handled the conditions really well, she kept strong in the TB, she deserved her win, yes she has played well since she won Adelaide her warm up tournament, kept that going at the AO making the final

Another delaying tactic from Iga, Madison was about to serve and Iga is up the other end of the court turned her back and practicing her return of serve? I mean who does that, the umpire just stared and looked at her, honestly since she has been in Australia her delaying tactics and bad sportsmanship have reached 'new heights', just pathetic

BTW Aryna Sabalenka retains her No 1 ranking, if Sabalenka had lost to Badosa, Swiatek would have returned to No 1
If Sabalenka and Swaitek met in the final the winner would have claimed the No 1 ranking
