Meddy grunting like crazy, but his shots are barely going over the net...sooo slow.

Meddy has gone to deep trenches, he can't even punish the 120 km/h 2nd serves. Thien really deserved a win, he was a braver player out there. Meddy too tentative, grunting for nothing.

Don,
Meddy had said he wont play a warm up tournament before the AO again, he wants my family time at home, after the arrival of his 2nd child
Maybe he will have to re-think that plan, to me he is a player that needs match time.
I have to ask this question? what has hiring Simon brought to Meddys game? my answer nothing quite frankly.
Meddy's aversion to the net cost him big time

I was sorry Rune and Berrettini met so early on...wanted both to do well. Glad it was a good match. I did see Matteo had a few set points in the 4th. Good for Holger to fight for it.

I see Tien is 2 sets to love up on Meddy. Wertheim said he has the kind of game to frustrate Medvedev and potentially upset him, or Medvedev could just step up and hit right through him. Well, the Russian isn't going to get out of this without fighting for it.
In regards to the Rune v Berrettini match, what really impressed me with Holger, was his focus, all match

Pushing? :D

Yeah, Meddy just too defensive and doesn't come to net nearly enough. I think he is burnt out and prefers family now over tennis. Not sure when he will find motivation again.
Yep he looks disinterested, well he wont be in the top ten for long with his current play and attitude

Carlos is through. But, what about this awesome shot by the #3 seed.
I would like to see him win the tournament.

Delighted for Lehecka and hope he stays injury free. He'll be a tough opponent as he's fresh and won easily today. Haven't watched much of the tennis at all but glad he's doing well.

Machac disappointed today, he could give more troubles to Novak but lost easily. Lehecka is a big hitter, maybe he will be tougher to beat.

Still I'd like to see Alcaraz Novak QF, it's an interesting match up and rivalry.

I watched the last set of Draper Vukic. Meeehhh...

Vukic has a virtue: he goes for his shots at pressure moments. But he was playing at the limit of his abilities. Draper is a more accomplished player but got visibly tight. He will be eaten alive by Alcaraz if he plays like that.

By the way, he had monster luck to get a mini break back in the deciding super tie break. Got a lucky net cord, Vukic scrambled for the ball and could barely get it, Draper just had to easily finish the point. Never considered apologizing for the net cord...

He can be prick-ish. Just remember Draper and FAA match from last year and that double bounce which Draper claimed he didn't see it.
