Well, I had Fonseca over for dinner a few weeks ago….. ; ) and told him that he was going to have a good AO run…

Top that Mrzz & ElDude !!!

Zero chance I could get even close to it...

We know tennis is a sport where small details can lead to huge consequences. Maybe your incentive phrase was the little drop of snow that generated this huge snowball rolling down the mountain! Thanks anyway!

First mens seed casualty of the day,
Kecmanovic d Hurkacz (18) in straight sets 64 64 62
Kecmanovic awaits the winner of Rune v Brerrettini,.
Massu and Lendl have a lot of work to do with Hurkacz.

He probably came back way too soon after his knee surgery, especially since he's a lanky bean pole (pun not intended but just copped it haha). Insane stuff really. He was back playing only a few weeks later despite his doctor telling him to take a few months off. I get that knee surgery has a very quick recovery time these times for some procedures but when you're a very tall, lanky guy playing a very physically demanding sport like tennis, you'd think more time off was essential really imo.

Hubi did have a MTO during the match for his knee, though he did play for Poland in the United Cup before the AO, his form was up and down, even though Poland made the final, they lost to the USA

#17 Frances Tiafoe falling 67(3) 64 36 64 61 to #59 Fabian Marozsan. After a breakout QF run in 2019, at AO, hasnt been the happiest hunting ground for Tiafoe, only winning reaching one R3 since.

Sonego plays the match of his life to beat Fonseca 3x2
Sorry mzz I have 3 Italians playing, one playing like crap, though Sonego fought hard, Fonesca has more weapons, he is great to watch and has had a great run well done

Yes incredibly bad scheduling... Great match between Berretini and Rune. A big comeback for Rune in the last tie break...
Rune deserved his win, really enjoyable match, I was going cross eyed trying to keep tabs on 3 matches lol!
I just have Sinner;s match to watch, it has taken awhile to find his rhythm, finally, he wasnt adjusting to the windy conditions on RLA

Medvedev v Tien Q has just started on RLA
Medvedev could be fined up to $100,00 for smashing the net camera with his racquet in his first round match against WC Samrej.

I was sorry Rune and Berrettini met so early on...wanted both to do well. Glad it was a good match. I did see Matteo had a few set points in the 4th. Good for Holger to fight for it.

I see Tien is 2 sets to love up on Meddy. Wertheim said he has the kind of game to frustrate Medvedev and potentially upset him, or Medvedev could just step up and hit right through him. Well, the Russian isn't going to get out of this without fighting for it.

It was a good match. Rune played better the big points and deserved a win. Pitty they met so early.

Meddy said he likes to spend time on the court, even though he doesn't look that way. Maybe he plans to stay here for a few hours more.
