Margaret, another option i guess would be for the Qualifiers, to make these young guns to play Best of Five in order to get them match-hardened and prepared for the Grand Slams. Because the way it seems to me, you still going to see, you are going to see, more often than not, some really poor tennis from players who aren't used to the sustaining their games for best of five versus the experienced players like Tsitsipas.
You know the challenger circuit is very strong, a player like Bergs would be playing, and trying to win a challenger tournament and getting his ranking higher so he can get into tournaments, and not have to play qualifers
I dont mind your option in qualifers at GS level playing the best of 5, to get them match hardened for GS tennis

Extended highlights on Jannick Sinner opening RD, who i am cheering on, for a possible victory at the AO. Whether these play outside of Australia is another thing, however Go Jannick

Very keen also to see young Alex' s opener this evening but i have my doubts as to whether he's GS material. Also hope to see Zverev in action.

Murray must be very close to retirement at this point. Maybe Wimbledon this year will be the end of the journey?
To be honest, Murray should have retired after the 2019 Australian Open. It was pretty clear by that point that the injuries zapped his love for the game. I have no idea why he is still giving it a go 5 years later. He could have even been in the tennis HOF this year.

Well, he did produce some memorable moments here in AO in last few years, but it was all in early rounds. He is a great fighter, no doubt about it, but on the other hand he has like 3 kids at home and a wife. To spend time with them seems like a wiser decision, than drag himself on the courts all over the world.

Here we go again rubbishing Murray, how many players would still be playing with metal hips to start with?
Murray a Grand Slam Champion has the right like any other player to call time on his career, its his call not yours?
Think about it he would still not be out on the courts if he didnt still Love The Game for starters!
Quite frankly I didnt think he would defeat his first round opponent who is a very tricky player Etcheberry?

AP will be happy Felix came through in a 5 set closely contested match over Thiem, ( Thiem went out in the first round last year at the AO)
Maybe this is the match that will 'ignite' Felix going forward in 2024, he still has been having knee issues
