Prizmic is going to be this year's breakout. If he gets a favorable draw, he could see the 2nd week of a slam later this year.
I like the way he plays he just needs more control, he didnt have much trouble in his first rd match yesterday against Aussie WC Walton.Matteo Arnaldi is a guy I'm keeping my eye on. I think he's got a real chance of reaching the top 20 this year, and maybe eventually the top 10.
I didn’t see it, but qualifiers can be dangerous first round opponents for the seeds.True. He's a scrub until he isn't. Let's see how long it takes before he makes the ascension
New Schedule of Play:LL Zizou Bergs will now play against Tsitsipas, as Berrettini withdrew yesterday with a foot injury
It's that very mature way of undermining Novak and this era by calling the kid a scrub! It's ridiculous of course, but what can we do? My only fault w/ D Prižmić is he was red-lining the entire match, literally trying to take the cover off the ball on every shot! He's worked out a lot for an 18 yo, so has very strong arms & legs normally reserved for pro weight lifters; very impressive thighs! I think I prefer his legs over Rune's; didn't think it possible! Dino, like Alcaraz needs to pull back just a little or both will have much shorter careers due to physically breaking down! He had a brace on his elbow & needed his leg strapped early in the match! That's so rare for a player that young! He's doing it to himself! Again, I blame parents and coaches when kids are pushed to overdo it to compete against MEN! Girls had the problem back "in the day" w/ Andrea Jaeger & Tracy Austin! They have the early success, but it doesn't last and were guaranteed frequent & serious injuries! He's got pretty good game for a young scrub. Novak praised him a lot after the match. Let's see how this youngster will progress going further.

Fingers crossed that Djokovic is eliminated in the next round. Bring it on !
"Hatah's gonna hate!" Says the guy who fully admits to switching to Djokovic because he hated Fedal so much, for winning everything and getting all the attention? Even hoping for the "old men" to be defeated, limping into retirement? The hypocrisy of it all is almost too rich for commentary, though I'm not above calling it out.Hatah's gonna hate! Doesn't that sound kind of sad & pathetic conspiring to overcome an old man of 36+? B/c the man has managed his playing time better than kiddies, you want to put the thumb on the scale to help overcome The GOAT! BO3 is one of the ways you can get your way I guess! Most of Novak's bad losses in Davis Cup, United Cup, & The Olympics occurred as a result of abbr. matches, BO3! All I can do is SMH! Try again! Novak will be long gone by the time any changes can occur to help the hatah's out there!
Personally speaking I am not in favor at GS to be the best of 3 sets, for men, to me playing the best of 5 sets, is about a player and how they handled the conditions, both mentally and physically and their reward is achieving the highest trophy in tennis a Grand Slam title. Regarding the scheduling at night time, I feel the women should always be scheduled first as in GS they play the best of 3. Another thought is to play all night time matches earlier say for example at the AO start at 6pm local time not 7 pm local time. Both the ATP/WTA have made changes on a trial basis this year, regarding not playing matches soo late at night etc, this is on a trial basis in 2024, hopefully the GS follow suit.I believe that Australian Open men's singles draw should be reduced to Best-of-3 sets excepting the finals. On day 1 you had one late evening match that took 5 hours to complete, even then it was decided by a ten-point 5th set tiebreaker. Imagine for a moment if it were still the old rules where the final set was played as an advantage set, where you had to win by two game margin! Not fair on the women players that was scheduled to follow, to be waiting around for hours and hours.
By this logic, and I agree with it, women should play best of 5 at Majors, too.Personally speaking I am not in favor at GS to be the best of 3 sets, for men, to me playing the best of 5 sets, is about a player and how they handled the conditions, both mentally and physically and their reward is achieving the highest trophy in tennis a Grand Slam title.
While this makes sense, in also relegates the women to always being the "undercard" match, men being the "marquee" match. It's inherently sexist.Regarding the scheduling at night time, I feel the women should always be scheduled first as in GS they play the best of 3. Oh please stop with the 'inherently sexist' part or the undercard match, it makes sense for a womens match to be scheduled first, I am certain in a night match the women would prefer to play first, than maybe have to wait for a mens match that might go 5 sets, I think most women would prefer to play first, as a women I know I would BTW there was a time women didnt get night matches, thankfully that has changed, also I am in favor of women playing the best of 5 in majorsBy this logic, and I agree with it, women should play best of 5 at Majors, too.

Well, if women played best of 5, then it wouldn't matter which match came first, would it? You don't have to buy my take on it, but I stand by it. And, no, I won't stop just because you'd rather I would.Oh please stop with the 'inherently sexist' part or the undercard match, it makes sense for a womens match to be scheduled first, I am certain in a night match the women would prefer to play first, than maybe have to wait for a mens match that might go 5 sets, I think most women would prefer to play first, as a women I know I would BTW there was a time women didnt get night matches, thankfully that has changed, also I am in favor of women playing the best of 5 in majors
Well they could toss a coin to see who played first if the best of 5 happened in GS or whoever gets the short straw if they want to do the straw thingyWell, if women played best of 5, then it wouldn't matter which match came first, would it?
