You were saying @DarthFed? :yesyes: :bye:  :ptennis: :rip:

This is what should happen. Unfortunately, if the kids can't bring the game to the old dude they deserve to lose. Today Zverev simply outplayed Roger as he should when the 37 year old is neither moving well nor is able hit through the court. Roger even got nervous and fumbled the easy volley in the tie break.

Of course Djokovic will whip Zverev in the final because he can do everything Zverev does but better.

Nothing working for Federer in this match

Poor groundstrokes, terrible ROS and serve % terrible, not finding passing shots even on mid court volleys
Federer has no killshot atm.
Zverev rushing the net also took away his slice tactic that works well in this matchup.

Hoping for a great off season but it's looking pretty bad for now.

Here are some things I thought:

SF, W, SF, SF is not too bad.

He isn't losing because of being older. He's losing because of being in poor form.

He can bounce back.

I don't know why and it's confusing as to whether I am being logical or emotional but I BELIEVE he can come back.

He needs to have a well planned off season and AO is his best chance upfront.

Zverev played better. Federer struggled a bit more on his serve, with many of his service games getting into rallies. Federer could not play short service games and Zverev knew that long rallies would favor him. His slices did not seem to trouble Zverev that much.

What do you think you're trying to say? People are supporting someone who's won 14 big titles in their city. You can't ask people not to support someone right? People forget his 37. That's natural. How about activating your emotional cortex?

Support who you want; booing him while being interviewed by A. Croft was classless and egregious! It was terrible to do to this kid! :nono:

^This. He is just not able generate pace off the ground and his balls sit up. Don't see how he will remain a relevant contender in any 1000+ tournament. To make matters worse, what used to be an aura is now a target on the back. Painful to watch.

Haven't watched a point of this match yet but congrats to Zverev.
One thing that is interesting though is that Roger's TB record was always up there with the best of them. Recently, along with other aspects of his game, the TB record is suffering too. Without the "clutch factor" , it will awfully tough to beat the top guys. You can try and hold serve even when you are not breaking and get to the TB but if you are not doing much with it...

That's how Isner's been doing it for years; just taking TB's if he can! His break skills are the worst; evidenced by his 2 marathons at Wimbledon! I still remember poor Stefan Edberg who lost a SF at Wimbledon in '91 to Michael Stich; broke once to take a set, but lost 3 TB's to the German! At least Stich was able to finish off Becker in the final so his ego was kept in check for a while! :yesyes:  :popcorn

Yes, the booing was classless. But it sure was a tough break for Roger. It was smart but not exactly classy of Zverev to stop playing the point after that great return from Fed. It's basically gamesmanship within the rules. So he deserves the whoop ass that is coming from Djokovic.

Talk to Nadal when you want to invoke the "gamesmanship" moniker! If Zverev hadn't stopped play and lost the point, Fed would have been given a true freebie point thru the distraction! Fed didn't hit a winner; the point was just stopped! Fed wasn't robbed! The crowd's behavior isn't confined to Europe; the UGLY Americans reared their heads last year in the USO final booing Osaka! She did nothing! That was made even worse with Serena's behavior on court and off on the sidelines! :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:

Exactly and the botched volley is proof. Even when he lost close matches he used to take it to a decider.

I don’t think the Americans fans booed Osaka. They booed the chair umpire.

Well those A-Holes in New York brought her to tears and ruined her moment! That was on Serena, not the chair umpire! Her coach admitted he was coaching from the stands! It's not like it was a real upset! Osaka beat Serena earlier in the season! :yesyes: :bye:

Fed getting screwed by ballboys. I swear this man has had absolutely no luck in his career and yet has won 20 slams. The true GOAT of not only tennis but all of sports.

Glad that bratrev got booed cause he's basically a jerk and funny how Annabel Croft trying to check the booing Fed fans when she should've shut her fucking gob.

So WTF does that say about Roger who dropped the match in straights? Sascha won this match no matter the idiots in the stands!

Quit taking the moral high ground when it's for Fed, clown. Nobody cares about your opinion about Fed cause you're a biased fakertard anyway.

Oh, stop it. Anyway, remember that if he'd let it go then stepped back on the ball, he could have been injured.

Anderson's serving is going to have to get better if he's to have a chance in this match.
