Well, let's try to analyze it rationally. Federer entered with a clear strategy. He took at least 5 games to go for the first winner. He was slicing and dicing, trying to lure Zverev to the net, and to keep the UFE count down. I guess the idea was to step on the gas just when the confidence was there.

I like when I see someone try something different, but I don't like when it translates into a passive, borderline coward and mediocre style of playing. Sometimes it seems the guy is not even trying hard enough.

Lendl didn't want to make too many changes during the season which makes sense! I think he's gotten Sascha to go after his shots and not play so passively! He's pounding the ball at the moment and it's paying off with the flailing strokes of Federer and others! :whistle:
