Well also worth mentioning the Wozniacki win - actually quite a good match from her. Fun thing that Woz started her WTA matches in Cincy as 15 year old - 18 years ago - losing to Schnaider. This was her first win over Kalinina

Caroline continues to impress. I am saddened that Emma bowed out early. Me thinks she might benefit from a bit of rest as she has been playing a lot these last six months.

Which Emma?hope you are not talking about Raducanu. If it's Navarro yes a lot of players that went to the Olympics are saying that they are fatigued.Coco is also saying that she is feeling fatigue.

Going 3 sets now in the match between Rybakina v Fernandez
Elina usually good serve has let her down when needed, Fernandez winning the TB 76(3), Fernandez wont go away, so Elina will have to up her level if she wants to win this match
On serve in the 3rd set 2 all
For the life of me someone correct Fernandez Ball Toss it is woeful and it isnt the first time I have said this, she needs to get a video of Serena Williams ball toss for starters, and see how it is done correctly, in saying that most of the women on tour could look at how text book Serena's ball toss was!

Rybakina is wilting in the heat
Well we all know she is 'fragile' though she should not be losing to Fernandez, her serve has let her down big time in this match,
Elina cant be tired she skipped Toronto

Another top seed gone Elina Rybakina defeated in 3 sets by Fernandez 63 67(3) 64,
BTW Elina retired last year in Cinncy that is a surprise isnt iit? to Jazz in round 3
BTW Elina's game does suit the faster surface at Cinncy as well., lets see how she fares at the USO
BTW that was Fernandez first Top 5 win since USO 2021!

Good 1st set by Taylor Townsend LL over the 9th seed Kasatkina 6-1
If there is a player with a good excuse for feeling 'Fatiqued' it is Taylor who drove all night from Toronto in her car and slept in her car to make the qualies for Cinncy
Sorry I am not buying the Fatiqued Card at all, these players are professionals, if they feel they are playing too much they can take a break and seeing Toronto and Montreal are WTA1000 tournaments players are obliged to play, if they are injured of course that is another factor., that also includes players that played at the Olympics some WTA players didnt get far in the tournament eg Coco Gauff,, in singles, so they should not be complaining of being tired, some players decided not to play at the Olympics for different reasons.

Speaking of Coco Gauff who is the defending champion at Cinncy she needs to put in a good performance here, her play since the AO has been sub par she is on the court now in her first round match against the tricky Poots

Poots wins the 1st set against Gauff 64, I dont know if she will end up winning this match, though at present she sure knows how to play Gauff
Coco with 21 UFE in the first set? that is just not good enough at this level.

Good win from Paula Badosa winning in straight sets over Kalinskaya (13) 63 62
3rd Top 20 win of the season for Badosa, good to see her playing solid tennis after the woes of her back injury for the last couple of years

Coco Gauff is making more of an effort to run around her backhand when she can, not a good strategy position wise? but perhaps allows her to cut down on the FH freebies
Coco gets the break in the 3rd set and she should go onto win this match 4-2, I wish Brad would shut up, I know he thinks he is giving encouragement, still Coco can work things out on her own, she has said this many times before and it was directed at Brad :)
Jesus I spoke too soon? Coco what the hell?
Poots will serve for the match 5-4 Coco I have No Words you were in control of the match in the 3rd set leading 4-2?
