Juan Martin del Potro will be eligible for the Tennis Hall of Fame 2027 class (as he played his last official match in 2022), alongside Serena Williams and Ash Barty (if she doesn't return).

Roger Federer is definitely getting in the 2026 class. Serena and Barty are definitely getting in the 2027 class. If JMDP gets in, 2028 has to be the year. Rafa and Andy are locks in 2029.

Carlos Alcaraz is a busy boy he is playing the Charlotte Invitational on Friday Dec 6th against Frances Tiafoe
Sloane Stephens will play against the newly married Madison Keys
I thought the season 'was too long' according to a lot of the players :)

Carlos Alcaraz has announced the addition of Samuel Lopez to his coaching team. The decision, confirmed just a day after Lopez ended his nine year partnership with Pablo Carreno Busta, as reported by Marca, Alcaraz's new coach will be in place for the Rotterdam Open in 2025. The decision follows a season ending indoor hard court stretch, where he struggled, including a surprising loss to Casper Ruud and an early exit at the Paris Masters. These setbacks exposed a better preparation in indoor conditions, a surface where Alcaraz's record (7-3) remains below his high standards.

I don't understand! What am I missing? He's still 20! Is this about status or winning % in comparison to other under 21'rs? Zverev qualified for both the YEC & YEC-Next Gen. way back when! (Just came to mind) I''m anxious to ssee how 2025 begins!:exploding-head::astonished-face::yawningface:
So dit Rune two years ago and choose YEC. I think maybe Alcaraz did the same year but think he was injured?

Andy Murray is not expected to accompany Novak Djokovic for the trip to Brisbane according to a report by the PA news
Meaning, the AO which is held January 12-26 to see Djokovic in action with Murray in his coaching box

Was there any doubt? Who TF questioned it? "1st Ballot" all the way using a baseball metaphor! The only question I can think of is will he pull a BJK or Martina & try to return after receiving this honor? I can't imagine that happening w/ the speed of the game out of reach of his old body! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :fearful-face:
Roger is done. I mean, maaaaybe he makes a surprise visit to Basel and plays a round. But I doubt even that. I hate to say it, but Carlos and Jannik would make mince-meat out of him.

Gotta give respect to Martina - at 47 years old she beat 25-year old Catalina Castano 6-1 6-0 in the first round of the 2004 Wimbledon. King only retired for about a year and a half, but continued playing doubles. But it is impressive that she was reaching QFs and SFs almost to 40 years old...her last being a SF loss in the 1983 Wimbledon to the very tragic Andrea Jaeger (abusive father, harassed by 30ish WTA female employees), who went on to lose the final to Martina. Jaeger's career must be one of the greatest disappointments/what ifs in WTA history.

Andrea was ranked the No 2 tennis play at age 16, around 1984 forced to retire with a shoulder injury after her loss to Martina at Wimbledon in 1983 ,after her retirement studied theology and ministry training before eventually becoming a nun, I remember her saying she used to pray before and after every tennis match, I guess she answered her true calling.
