#1 was really easy. You all overthought it. It was Jannik Sinner, lol. He won the Sofia Open in November 2020.
Actually, there was someone between Sinner and Alcaraz - that is, someone younger than Sinner who won his first title before Alcaraz did. So it goes:

SINNER
(Mystery Player)
ALCARAZ
FILS
SHANG

I'll go check the birthdays of the 2021 ATP Tour winners, but I'm pretty sure no one younger than Sinner won in between.

OK, I'll "out with it."

Sinner (born 8/16/01) first title: Sofia, Nov 2020
Juan Manuel Cerundolo (11/15/01) first and only title: Cordoba, Feb 2021
Alcaraz (5/3/03) first title: Umag, July 2021

So that's five months before Alcaraz, as the reigning "Youngest Title Holder."

Breaking News a few moments ago, ( source Michal Samsulski also Sasa Ozmo)

Andy Murray will be Novak Djokovic's new coach at least up until the end of the Australian Open,, then they will take it from there, ( includes the off season) first coaching job since retiring from tennis
I read earlier that Novak was looking for a new coach and was also going to play an lead up event before the AO!
Djokovic said,
" I am excited to have one of my greatest rivals on the same side of the net as my coach".

Isn’t this a great story? Obviously Rafa turned him down and Roger told him to the get the f, but Novak now has a new coach at last….

At first I thought it was a Joke, though thinking more about it, I feel it is a good choice, Andy has a very good analytical brain, they are good friends, also he might be able to help Novak with his over head smashes, to date no other coach he had could :) lets see who screams first Novak at his box or Andy at Novak lol!
Quite frankly I feel this is Novak's last dance in 2025, seeing if he can win the AO in 2025, his best GS to date

I can imagine they’ll both be screaming first and prolly he’ll be disqualified unfairly at a slam again..

I thought it sounded odd, tbh. Let's see if he gives Murray more respect than he has some of his coaches. But I do think you're right that Novak must be feeling he has to make a stand at the AO, this year.

Well, "Duh!" He's 37 & didn't win an ATP event for the 1st time in 2 decades this season! I'm sure he's quite happy to at least pick up the missing achievement w/ Olympic GOLD! The end is near, & I'm sure he wants to cap off his career w/ a couple more majors & a few Masters 1000's added to his resume! Even w/ the move to go to BO3, I'm still not sure his records will ever be touched! It wasn't just consistency that got him those trophies; it was the longevity w/ little absence due to injury! :angry-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I'm pretty sure that despite other results last year, he's very happy about that Gold medal that he really wanted. I say that earnestly! I don't think he'll care much about the MS 1000s, other than as tune-ups to the Majors. He has very little left to achieve, so you have to think the focus will be on the Majors. Sorry if the AO comment was all-too-obvious for you, but I'm sure he'll be thinking that. But you're right...it takes not just talent, but longevity and good health to rack up the kinds of records he has, so it will be quite some while before many are broken. And some may stay untouchable.

I think so too, but he might have chosen somebody other than the man who lost four finals there. :lol6:

But you know, anticipating the expected popcorn crunching moment of when Djokurray start screaming at each other, one from the floor and the other in the box, I think this choice at least showed some imagination. I’m not sure what Murray can add to Djoker’s game, but then, I sceptical about his teaming up with Goran.

It showed some imagination to ask Murray, but it would have been a golden tennis move if he’d approached Rafa, and Rafa said Si. Now that would whet anybody’s appetite for the game…

I personally don't see Rafa coaching, other than maybe Davis Cup, or Laver Cup, at some point, but not so soon. I suppose that was tongue-in-cheek. I'm curious about Murray's interest. His mother was a coach, so he may be kean to try. Personally, I don't see it as a fit, aside from the affinity for barking at the box. But who knows? Gives us something to look forward to in January.
