Rafa was like a metronome with his serve to Federer’s backhand. No variation, just fizzed it into the backhand. Generally the purpose of Rafa’s serve was to construct, not to destroy. It was a chess move, to construct the rally that was to follow..

And Rafa did it very well. Roger couldn’t do much about it.

Yeah, it was torturous consistency by Rafa. Bored him to death. I think in the 2008 French Open final, Rafa’s serve went to Federer’s backhand on every single point except 1!

I knew this would be a tricky match, Bublik is a very tricky opponent and very much underestimated in terms of ability
