Regarding FAA, if he is going to ever going to be a dominant player, this has to be the year that he wins a slam or two. FAA is now the same age as Federer was in 2004, the year he truly became dominant (3 slam wins and 11-0 in finals). If FAA doesn't win a slam this year, his ceiling becomes an Andy Murray like career.

Regarding FAA, if he is going to ever going to be a dominant player, this has to be the year that he wins a slam or two. FAA is now the same age as Federer was in 2004, the year he truly became dominant (3 slam wins and 11-0 in finals). Sorry you cant compare FAA to Federer, that is like comparing apples to oranges, I personally prefer apples, aka Federer all players develop at their own pace for starters, men seem to mature at age 25 plus, FAA has to improve in area's of his game, last year he had a good run at indoor events, expecting him to win a slam or 2 this year is like 'pie in the sky'.

1980 (age 20) - 7 titles, 110 match wins, YE ranking 6
1981 (age 21) - 10 titles, YE ranking 2
1982 (age 22) - 15 titles, 92% winning percentage

If FAA is going to be an all-time great, he is going to need to have a breakout season, either consisting of a slam or 7+ titles in 2023.

I strongly suggest you watch his current game there are area's he needs to improve, again you cant compare FAA to Lendl?
There is now way FAA can win 1 or 2 slams this year, as you suggested, that is 'fantasy'.As I mentioned all players develop at their own pace. I suggest you go and read El Dude's opinion of FAA., based on his current performance and others of his age group, is pretty fair.BTW a recent study has indicated that tennis players reach their highest levels of performance at age 24, though that is just an indication.

This match between Meddy and Grigor is a one way street affair,,with the exception of that one game where Grigor could have gone 4-2 instead it was 5-1. Meddy wins the 1st set 61

Medvedev has finally found some form in Rotterdam, into his first final of the year, defeating Dimitrov 61 62 ( though at times Grigor imploded, how many times have we witnessed that in his career)., with that win Medvedev will be back in the Top ten next week

Thats a very interesting stat per age 23 and top champhions.

Felix may yet win a Major, as can the crown princes ( Tsitsipas & Zverev) but it doesnt appear he has the mental tenacity to rise to the ocassion. So far he hasn't shown enough sustained flashes of brilliance to convince me he will evolve into an all time great or even a dominating champhion.

i remember Federer in 2001 beating Sampras & even in 2002 winning a Masters and i remember thinking, “if that kid could get his head on straight…”

Felix is always a bit measured, no explosiveness per all his “pretty” strokes.
