Domi wouldn't cut mustard there either. To me the challengers are more competitive. He's actually had chances to win some of these matches, but just not confident enough to play the right shot on the right point, using more margin, etc.
Point taken with the challengers, this one in Arizona is very competitive, though I am glad Matteo has decided to play, he needs match play

Matteo got Ivashka in the 1st round who just took a set off Medvedev in IW. Maybe not the opponent he was hoping for that early. Let's see where he is at, it's a good test.

This is a highly competitive challenger when I looked at the whole entry field, though I am glad Matteo is playing he needs the match play

Anyone have a favorite to win the ever slow IW event? My choice is Medvedev because his crankiness reached an all time high when he beat Zverev, even after taking that nasty fall. I loved the change over comments to the umpire, complaining about how bad and slow the courts were, I could have sworn I heard him say "I am a hard court specialist". I think in the end he'll have the winner's check in his hand and his carry on luggage ready for the flight to Miami.

P.S. Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all Tennis Frontier members who celebrate this most important holiday that stresses the importance of too much drinking. :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Okay, that was cheesy. In other Miami highlights, Benoît PAIRE (Mr. Personality!) was given a wildcard into qualifying. James Blake, finally, a great choice in the wildcard selections.....

Jack Draper who retired in his match against Alcaraz in IW, has a small tear in his oblique, hans't made a decision on whether he will play Miami ( please be sensible Jack and withdraw and rest, a bit, for the clay season)

The final of the Phoenix Challenger will be between Shevchenko vs Borges
It still appears that Berrettini is need of match play :)
Other seeded players that were eliminated included Gasquet, Huesler, Bublik, Ruusuvori and Lehecka, just goes to show that playing in a challenger tournament is not to be taken lightly and is highly competitive

26 year old Nuno Borges defeats Alexanda Shevchenko 46 62 62 to win the first ever challenger 175 in Phoenix. He will be a Top 70 player tomorrow. Fantastic!

The Belgrade ATP250 tournament scheduled for 2023 will relocate to Banja Luka, Bosinia and Herzegovina, in April 17th - 23rd, the event will be played on clay, on the entry list is Novak Djokovic ( which is no surprise) seeing the tournament was in Belgrade before being relocated.

They are upgrading facilities in Belgrade to make it ATP500. They were then looking for options on where to host tournament this year and chose Banja Luka where majority of Serbians live even though it is in Bosnia. Bosnian history is complicated, they have regions where majority is either Croatian, Bosnian or Serbian. Anyway, Banja Luka was a long time challenger and in order to have it hosting ATP250 they had to build a stadium which is currently under construction and hopefully will be finished in time for the event.

This Banja Luka place is only 180 km away from where I live. I am thinking to go with my son. Wife said it's dad-son kind of event, good for bonding, in other words she doesn't watch tennis.
