Some #1 we have here! I wonder how long this embarrassment will go on? Hubert played great and deserved the win BTW! :astonished-face: :fearful-face::shushing-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:
He’s a #1 without an identity, really, isn’t he? He struggles to assert himself at the top. It was quite revealing after the final in Oz that he complained about the lack of support from the crowd. His bathetic whine about the little boy who no longer dreams because the nasty, nasty people in the crowd didn’t hoist him up on their shoulders and proclaim him “King.”

For those of us who like him, it was a let down. But it told us something too: Danii isn’t bully enough yet to be strong #1. He’s too self conscious. He’s got a ways to go. Pity about that. Meanwhile, tennis moves rapidly forward…

I think y’all are being a bit hard on him. I understand last week going after him but Hurkacz is no slouch. I’d say if he doesn’t find his way to a title before the US Open then we should worry.

Matteo Berrettini beats Filip Krajinovic 75 64 to defend his title at Queens
9-0 on grass in 2022, which is a great result seeing he has been off the tour for months after having hand surgery
20-1 since 2021, 32-3 since 2019.
Another fact is that Matteo is the first ever player to win the Queens club in his first two appearances.

Yap, Daniil with some mental issues since AO and not able to seal the deal back then.

His coach even left the court after Daniil cursed at him or something. Still Hurkacz is strong player on grass, but there was absolutely no real reason to lose last week against nobody in the final.
Just finished watching the highlights of the match between Meddy and Hubi, I mean does his coach have a clause in his contract about how many times Meddy can abuse him?, I had no doubt that Hubi would win btw.

He does actually, but since Danni can’t play Wimbledon he’s asked kindly if the coach minds if he uses up his Wimbledon quota of savage abuse, at Halle.

Coach is a decent bloke and agreed…

LOL! his coach has lots of patience, probably the best scenario he just walks out of the stadium or wears ear plugs next time Meddy plays.

He can always play that game of "what if?!" I just wonder has Medvedev deluded himself into making himself a possible favorite at Wimbledon!

Lets us see if the No 1 player Medvedev ( along with his coach who will be wearing ear plugs) can defend his title at the Mallorca Championships and actually win his first title of 2022.

Tim Henman said that some practice will be allowed on Centre and No 1 courts at Wimbledon this year to 'play in' the courts a bit and hopefully make then less slippy........after watching Serena slip over and do her achilles in her first match and having to retire last year..Good Move!

We were saying we'd talk about dangerous floaters after Queens and Halle. I think someone mentioned Otte on another thread. And what about Van dan Zandansculp, or however you spell that? He's had some good results.

Here's an interesting fact: Since the 2021 Wimbledon, the player that beats either Shapovalov or BVDZ in the slam, that player has gone on to reach the final or win the whole slam

2021 Wimbledon: Djokovic beats Shapovalov and wins title
2021 US Open: Medvedev beats BVDZ and wins title
2022 AO: Nadal beats Shapovalov and wins title. Medvedev beats BVDZ and reach the AO Final
2022 RG: Nadal beats BVDZ and wins title.
