Basically, Medvedev and Zverev will be the number 1 and number 2 rank players in the world after Wimbledon.

As for Nadal, if he wins RG, then he will be ranked number 3 after Wimbledon.
What about Tsitispas ranking after Wimbledon? I also think it depends if he can defend his final points from RG 2021? he also has a good draw at RG this year being in the bottom half of the draw

Tsitsipas has to win RG to gain points because he was a finalist last year. The good thing is that Tsitsipas can reach the number 2 ranking (will be his career high) IF he wins RG AND Zverev does not reach RG SF.

Nadal can not reach the number 2 ranking after Wimbledon even if he wins RG because he is defending 1,000 points at RG and 360 points at Wimbledon.

It will also hurt Novak's efforts to retain No 1 ranking, Novak the defending champion at Wimbledon stands to lose 2,000 points.
No 2 Medvedev and No 3 Zverev each only stand to lose 180 points making the fourth round.

Well, I think Novak will hold the rec. indefinitely anyway! Sitting at 370 weeks alone is a monumental effort for anyone so I'll survive this issue!

Novak will end up being the "so called" most dangerous floater in years if this happens! It looks inevitable though! :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy::clap:

Wimbledon not backing down and also says they've reached out to other Grand Slams,

"We wish to state our deep disappointment at the decision taken by ATP, WTA and ITF in removing ranking points for the Championships. We believe these decisions to be disproportionate in the context of the exceptional and extreme circumstances of this situation and the position we found ourselves in and damaging to all players who compete on the Tour.
We are considering our options, and we are reserving our position at this stage.
We are also in discussion with our Grand Slam colleagues".

Everything they come out with seems more limp than the last. "Reserve their position." Meaning, they may change their mind. "In discussion with other Grand Slam Colleagues." Who? Roland Garros has already decided, and I don't think the USO has made any statement to give them hope. And the AO is months away. It seems so old-school, WWII, plus Wimbledon whites and our-way-or-the-highway. I have no idea what they think they're proving by this, but I do know they are absolutely wrong, and the tennis federations are correct to turn their Major into an exhibition. I hope players boycott, tbh.

WTF happened to Gasquet? Defeats Medvedev, then "lays down" in his SF match today! I didn't see it, but how could he go out 2 & 2 to Sousa? :astonished-face:
Didn't you just tell me that Gasquet was yesterday's lunch? And you obviously aren't paying attention because Sousa has been quietly making some marks in this clay season, old warrior that he is. One old warrior to another, Sousa got the better of Gasquet. It's not even that shocking, if you're paying attention.

I think we agree on something, AP!
El Dude.. I always respected you., its always been competitive banter .. As a matter of fact the only person I truly dislike is Tsitispas's prior issue with his tennis shoes ( you know whom I am referring too)

This hybrid reaction by the ATP, etc is just odd per their 0 points for Wimbledon play.

I just don’t see why the players are the ones getting penalized. Novak, who was most vocal in decrying Wimbledon’s policy suddenly will lose 2000 Wimbledon points with no way to regain them? How the hell does that make any sense.

Short of a genuine boycott it’s all window dressing.

Here's the thing: If the players were truly upset about the banning of Russians/Belarusians and losing Wimbledon points, they would have really considered boycotting the event altogether.

In my opinion, there are NO true winners in Wimbledon's decision to ban Russians/Belarusians.

If the ATP did not do anything, then they will be criticized for not doing anything and/or for supporting the ban of Russians and Belarusians.

If the ATP did do something (such as this decision or freezing the points), then the lower ranked players will suffer.
