I have no problem with the relaxing of local restrictions, but I do think that Wimbledon shouldn't abolish all restrictions at once, if they're not going to require a vaccine for players. Let's face it, tennis players ramble the world and are always potential "Typhoid Marys." If it weren't for one particularly prominent tennis player who refuses to vaccinate, and no one wanting to touch that third rail again, I'm sure Wimbledon would have no problem requiring that the players be vaccinated. It's just sensible.
If they actually worked and stopped transmission then there might be some reasoning with countries and tournaments requiring vaccination but it's a combination of both the complete failure of the vaccines to stop transmission and the natural trajectory of the virus downgraded so much that it's absolutely nothing for the majority that has now caused quite a few countries to scrap absolutely all restrictions. I 100% guarantee that once the Russia v Ukraine saga subsides, covid will be back with a bang as the media love doom and gloom in our lives.

You and I will never agree to what extent the vaccination has worked to stop transmission. But in the history of health, vaccinations have, in fact, stopped transmission of disease. Covid is not just a "topic du jour." Most players are vaccinated, and so likely are most who will attend, so it's not going to become some super-spreader event. However, it is about to become a global shame, if it bans the players from Russia and Belarus. I just hope the powers that be stand up to it before it's too late.

It depends on what restrictions you think are left. It’s good that they dropped the vaccine requirement, and after this, we have to bear in mind that Wimbledon takes place outdoors, in summer. Even an English summer, outdoors, you have as much chance of Murray winning it this year as you have of catching covid. I’m still trying to find a Djokovic-pass for my summertime New York freebie, but I think I stand as much chance as he did in Australia. To get through to the American embassy here is a fool’s errand. My leg to stand on being, the suggestion that although my vaccines Certificate is out of date, they might still recognise that I’m double-jabbed vaccinated.

I know - but give me credit - I’m not gonna turn up like Novak did and tell lies about it. I’ll know before this week is out…

Yeah I realize in the history of health vaccines have stopped transmission but we're talking about the covid ones and they're duds in that regard, especially since Omicron, which renders mandates 100% pointless and actually insane.

Another Crown Prince bites the dust.

The18 year old Danish warrior Holger Rune held his nerve and upset Zverev at the Munich tournament in an impressive 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Following Carlos Alcaraz, he’s the second 18 year old to beat a top 3 player within a year. He impressed me this year at Indian Wells when he gave Matteo Berrettini a scare.

These kids love their droppers….

Watching Rafa back on clay is like watching the light skinned Splash Bros( Klay and Step) with Draymond playing together. Its just NATURAL and the way it SHOULD BE!

That kid is good. He's going to be 19 on Friday, I see. (Same as Carlos, who turns 19 next week, I think.) He looks like he's filled out. He was all over the court, so smart out there. He even lobbed a beauty right over the tall German's head.

Well another Scandinavian R battle will commence next round. Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori got through and will play Dane Rune.

With Norway’s Casper Ruud on the bottom half of the draw.

Hey, you leave Ladies Luv Cool J alone. He is way too foxy to be related to Verdy (even distantly)... :lol6:
Keli, You fancy him more than the current 49ers QB porn star Jimmy G? .. Jimmy has his first national commercial with Subway.

Or is Senor Matteo still your favorite!! jajaja :lol6:

Seri Bruguera has his work cut out for him, especially on the clay, as Zverev crushes out to a teenager in Munich.
Zverev's start to 2022 continues southward.

I am curious to see if Nadal is able to overtake Zverev in the world rankings right before RG. Both of them are defending exactly 1,180 points in Madrid and Rome together.

The reason I am wondering is, if Nadal is able to overtake Zverev in the rankings, he will more than likely be seeded 2nd at RG due to Medvedev skipping RG.

Now, the most important thing for Nadal at RG is health, but it is something you can keep your eye on going into Madrid and Rome.

Rafa will have a practice session with Delbonis today in Madrid.

Quite frankly at age 25, Zverev is at a cross road in his career. His early prodigy window was blocked by the Big 3.Now there are a dozen youngsters behind him-many with more game.,also with better mentality.
Interesting stat Zverev has lost 7 times in 2022 to players younger than him,
Felix,Shapo,Bublik,Paul,Ruud,Tsitsipas,Rune.

Of course I do. LL is an ole skool honey. He was relevant before these young cats were even born. I'm happy for Jimmy G. Apparently Subway has plenty of advertising funds: They're paying Super Bowl Tom, Serena, Curry and some others I'm sure I've forgotten.

Babycakes is still my fave young gun. Although recently he's annoyed me with his behavior: changing his clothing line, dumping his sweet gal and then his subpar play.
