This incident definitely deserves a ban beyond the Acapulco tournament... Let's see what happens.

This is what Alexander Zverev posted on his instagram account,
"It is difficult to put into words how much I regret my behavior during and after the doubles match yesterday.I have privately apologized to the chair umpire because my outburst towards him was wrong and unacceptable, and I am only disappointed in myself. It just should not have happened and there is no excuse.I would also like to apologize to my fans, the tournament and the sport that I love.As you know,I leave everything on the court.Yesterday,I left too much.I am going to take the coming days to reflect on my actions and how I can ensure that it will not happen again.I am sorry for letting you down".

Like this is something new! What is wrong with you? Tennis players have been maniacs on court for as long as I can remember! Just because you haven't seen much of it doesn't mean it isn't going on all the time! They're being restrained for the most part, but with COVID pressures, politics, $$$, endorsements, etc., players just aren't holding it in as much! Get over it babe! :face-with-hand-over-mouth::yawningface: :astonished-face:

Translation:
- self-imposed silent ban coming
- PR folks told him to get out in front of it so it doesn't affect the rest of his season

Actions speak louder than words....I still feel he should be suspended for up coming tournaments he is playing. One of the worst,if not the worst display of abusive behavior towards an umpire I have witnessed.,sad to say.

It must have been a close call! If he actually struck the umpire, he might be behind bars! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::laugh::lol6::clap:
Sasha was close to hitting the feet of the umpire,I mean the umpire flinched....regardless he has to be suspended then more than one tournament. What made if worse he got up and verbally abused the umpire again?

Noone can excuse Zverev and his blantant aggressive abuse of the umpire on TF
If they do they probably need to join him in a Abusive Therapy Program
BTW I have notice with abusers they apologize profusely after abusing

Nothing new really! Guys who abuse GF's & wives are quick to apologize then say "it'll never happen again!" We all know that's BS & are taken back!

You know why the GFs and wives take them back because the 'Abusers' tell them 'I Did Not Want To Hit You But You Made Me Do It'
they make out the GFs and wives it is all their fault. Also the GFs and wives are frightened.,most of them have no way to go or support.
BTW I speak from experience.

The Young Greek recorded the 200th win of his career defeating Djere 76(7) 76(4) in his opening match in Mexico
The Young Greek is the first man born in 1998 to get to 200 career wins.

Being obsessive, I hate that I missed Murray getting his clock cleaned earlier! How long can he allow the embarrassment of letting kids work him?

Glad to see Denis play a clean match today. I will say overall he has to figure out how to get that serve working consistently and earning him more free points. He has been a double fault machine. He either needs to take some off his first serve to get it in or figure out effective second serve tactics to avoid those double faults.
