Novak really could roll out of bed and win a tournament. If you look at his losses at the grand slams, Everyone really played ultra aggressively at him. If you play passive, he will defeat you with a quickness. Look at the times Federer, Thiem and Nadal had match points or two set leads vs him. Its the only way.
Apparently he can't roll out the bed and win. His kryptonite, aka Stanimal, RBA and Vesely are a bit too tough for him when he got up on the wrong side of the bed.

Djokovic is getting all he wants and more from Vesely in Dubai! Reminds me of their match a few years ago on clay where Novak was upset by this guy! He's doing just enough to throw Novak off his game with dropshots, actually outdueling him from the baseline with timely serving! Might be the end of the #1 ranking for him down a set and a break! Medvedev won't even have to win Acapulco to take over! :astonished-face:  :fearful-face::facepalm:
Yeah he did

Excellent result for tennis today. Did people really think Djokovic would have won the AO? lol In the 2nd half of last year he had lost at the Olympics, USO, WTF and the loss today confirms that he has become irrelevant...

Zverev was fined $40,000,and will forfeit more than $30,000 in prize money (singles and doubles) and all ranking points from the Mexican Open.
In addition to those penalities, the ATP announced Thursday it would undertake 'a further review of the incident'.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if Sascha lost out on being #1 or #2 in the world at year's end due to losing these points? It's come down to it before!

Well I hope the ATP does 'a review again of the incident' and he should be suspended for a few upcoming tournaments, thats my opinion and also others. If the ATP just think fining him and taking away ranking points in a ATP500 tournament is sufficient punishment, that just sends out the wrong message to all players going forward in the tour.
BTW we are still waiting the abuse allegations from his former girlfriend which the ATP is still investigating? that started in October last year.

This is what I have been saying for the past 5 years in regards to Wicky Nicky has came to light. I sure its more BiPolar depression is his diagnosis. Hopefully now the young man is able to get himself some help and savage his career before it gets to late.

.
Even as a junior Nick had problems on the tour,Tennis Australia sent him home from Roland Garos, because of his behavior. It just hasnt started,it has been there as a junior, sad to say he has been in denial, hopefully he now gets the proper help he needs as a young man, regardless of his tennis career.

Don’t mean to be insensitive, but how is this in any way surprising…
Some of it is, and very open. I'm glad he's coming clean on this. I like Nick and I root for him. He really does seem different, in the last while.

J Vesely defeats Novak 6-4, 7-6. Fiero, I think, you're right, doesn't this guarantee Medvedev gets to #1 this week? This should help Medvedev relax the rest of this tourney, the pressure is off.
I don't find it shocking that Djokovic couldn't make it to the end of this tournament, given the late start on the year, the rust, and the implications. I didn't pick him to make it to the end of the draw in my challenge. And now he's not expecting to come to the US for IW/Miami. Will be interesting to see how he comes into the clay season, if so.

Tide just changed. Don't know what Rafa is so agitated about, but he's down the early break in the 2nd.

Credit to Paul on that 15-40 point, but good Rafa, on the next 2.

I will be curious to see if France will lift its restrictions to unvaccinated non-citizens by the end of May.
