Brilliant performance. Hits the ball so fast and flat like a lazer. His easy power reminds me a lot of Berdych actually and he even looks somewhat like him!
Also a well balanced athlete, which comes from his junior skiing days, he does have easy power off both wings, and now with Cahill coaching him full time,he can only improve in area's like his serve and also his transition game to the net

Seems only fitting that an Italian won the title as the Italians were the highlight of this tournament. Absolutely brilliant tournament for Zeppieri and Agamenone as well who most had never heard of before here. Umag is historically a tournament where qualifiers play out of their minds.

Petros Tsitsipas is playing Ryan Harrison (whatever happened to him?!) now in the Lexington Challenger.

So De Manure and Brooksby just kicked off. I'll be absolutely in bits if De Manure wins this 2-1 and BOTH my predictions turn out correct  I went for over 22.5 in this in the end as I couldn't call who'd win it but see it likely going 3 also. Gut feeling initially though as I posted earlier today was De Manure 2-1.

Wow! I did not think Jannik Sinner will win that match after being down 6-7, 0-1 0-40. Sinner saved SIX break points in that 2nd game and lost a total of ONE game after holding serve, very impressive mental fortitude from the Italian!

The most shocking stat from the last two Alcaraz-Sinner matches: Alcaraz is 0 for 16 in break point conversions! And Sinner does not have a big serve (although he has been serving clutch in these past couple of weeks).

Federer would be proud of those shocking break point failures and as a Fed fan that sucks

If I remembered correctly too, nine of those break points were in two games in which Alcaraz had a 40-love lead on Sinner's serve. So, yeah, that will definitely sting.

Alcaraz had 8BPs in the 2nd set and could not convert.
Happy with the way Sinner recovered from the 1st set, impressive win that is the 2nd time this year he has defeated Alcaraz

Wow, shocking. I missed a bit here and there and was just popping back and forth checking the score for a bit. Clearly the ankle roll was not a factor. He just got spanked.

I think people here underestimate the return game of Sinner, he just teed off on Alcaraz serve, Sinner has a great return game, he did the same to Alcaraz at Wimbledon a few weeks ago.

Like I said before, there will be a spell in a match in which Alcaraz will struggle to return opponent's serve. Now in fairness, going 0 for 8 on BPs in two return games is mind crushing, so it is probably why he only won ONE game after those opportunities. But for now, if you are able to frustrate Alcaraz on his return game, then he will start feeling pressure on his own service game. While Alcaraz has a good serve (depending on the day, match and etc...), it can break down especially if Alcaraz is struggling on the return game.

Well that is what Sinner did, his return game was too good for Alcaraz, on his serve

I do think Sinner has a great return game, better than Alcaraz at this point of their careers.

Ultimately, what saved Sinner is those saved break points in the 2nd set. If Alcaraz converted one of those break points, we probably get a different outcome.

Of course, Sinner did have a bad start in the t/break was down 5-1, then came back, too late, though he just buckled down improved his game in the 2nd and 3rd sets, his composure, he didnt looked rattled at all.

In a sense, we got 3 different matches in one match:

Before the 1st set tiebreaker: Dead even match, no break point opportunities
1st set tiebreaker to 2nd game of 2nd set: Alcaraz raised his level
Rest of the match: Sinner raised his level and Alcaraz's level went down

Yep, I am looking forward to their future matches.

A.de Minaur wins his 2nd Atlanta title defeating J. Booksby 63 63
It will be all Aussie doubles final with Jason Kubler/John Peers vs Nick Kyrgios/Thanasi Kokkinakis shortly.
