Interesting to see so many players choosing to stay in Europe as we head into hard court season. Perhaps they are cautious about too much serious travel ahead of the US Open given Covid cases rising.

Happy to see my 2 Italian's making the finals, Mussetti has reached his first ATP final will either play Alcaraz or Molcan, who are playing now in Hamburg
Ben fatto Matteo reaching the final in Gstaad!

Mateo landed in a bit of hot water with his social media post regarding Lebron James. He used the Gorilla emoji with a crown in reference to a post about Lebron James. I’m like come on Mateo, no sir. He even admitted several of his friends admitted it was not a good idea to post it before he posted it.

The only reason it was competitive is because he wasn't confident in the game plan. After he tucked away that 1st set, he's in full flight now
Alcaraz has been playing very well in this tournament, will be hard to beat in the final.

Well he definitely needs a good boost before the US Open which is the slam I thought he could have a good breakthrough even win.

Interesting with Zverev a question, it could be a tough fight for that 4th seed at the US Open between Tsitsipas, Alcaraz, and Ruud. If Zverev doesn’t play, things become a bit more open.

19 year old Alcaraz will hit a new career high on Monday...welcome to the Top 5 Alcaraz!.Alcaraz is the youngest to achieve this since Rafa Nadal in 2005.
Alcaraz has won 5 finals so far this season, looking at no 6 tomorrow in the final at Hamburg
Just looking at the points, if my calculations are correct, if Alcaraz wins Hamburg he will overtake Tsitsipas for 4th place in the rankings.
@rafanoy1992 if you are around is that correct?

I think you are right. Per the live rankings website, if Charlie wins tomorrow he will have 5095 points. Tsitsipas is currently at #4 with 5045, so Alcaraz would jump over him.

There couldn't possibly be more interesting final in Hamburg than what they've got. Alcaraz and Musetti are battling hard mid 3rd set.

Musetti wins. Biggest achievement in his career. Strange how he never found this form for RG. He can play really good on clay I'd watch Musetti instead of Ruud any time.

I really like Ruud. I’d describe him as scrappy. I do need to see him step it up and finally take a 500 or 1000 though. His court positioning does him in against stronger opponents usually. He may want to invest some of those FO final dollars in a coach that will take him to the next level.

Hey Don., I just got home from work, and looked at the results, wow I cant believe Musetti won, I will watch the match on replay later, I really thought Alcaraz would win with ease :) yes he can play well on clay,he has the game, his first ATP title as well.
