Interesting, Rublev says he would consider a citizenship change possibly if it affected his ability to continue to play tournaments.

The sad thing about this is players who do this risk being banned from going back to Russia possibly ever again. I say ever again simply because Medvedev (Dmitry that is) who was president before Putin and is quite a bit younger will likely take over after Putin and the political situation won't get any better with him in power. Just my guess anyway.

In the case of Bublik, you never know what will come out of his mouth. The commentator was trying to be nice, and this "lobster roll" comment came earlier in the week. What's funny is that he also told someone in the crowd to "shut the hell up". I believe they. were talking on their cell phone. Bublik has no shame, I think that is why people enjoy him, you never know what might happen next!
Haha that's nothing compared to this. Gulbis is back! Watch this and listen for the gem part at the end.

Front,

Cam Norrie's fhand reminds me of Gulbis fhand, in ways.,maybe it is the back swing he takes
Quite frankly I will never know why Gulbis changed his fhand to begin with aka Helicopter style
Yeah Norrie's FH really does look similar. Disappointing that Gulbis went off the rails after his shoulder issues. He was giving the top guys tough matches till then.

Yeah, Coric can't catch a break with injuries, but on a positive note, he is winning matches lately and groin injury should not be anything serious and he will probably be ready for Umag next week I hope.
Yes, but definitely in the category of "can't catch a break." I didn't see any tennis today, only the RET from him. Hopefully he's on the path to be back in the mix, though. He's still quite young, I think.

Novak Djokovic talking about some of his reasons for playing Laver Cup this year,

" To be joining the likes of Roger, Rafa and Andy who are also 3 of my all time biggest rivals is going to be a truly unique moment in the history of our sport.I agree its going to be iconic and special".
The Beatles are back together. So much for the chances of Team World.
I’m not really interested in Laver Cup. They really should do something about the format to make it more interesting than it is.
I do think it's a glorified exhibition, but I DO think it's fun. What would you change about the format?

I don’t know. It really seems like an unnecessary tournament. I think ATP Cup has a better balance. It seemed to me more like a glorified way to get Roger, Nadal, and Djokovic at the same tournament and playing together rather than against each other more than anything.

I do not disagree that it is unnecessary. I don't like ATP cup better. I'd still rather have Davis Cup. Laver Cup is a star vehicle and a money maker.
And I think that crafty Roger is going to use it as a temperature check.....
It IS his invention, after all. And he can play as much or as little as he likes.

It is just painfully unbalanced, and they don’t even care to try to find a format that makes it more interesting. Team Europe and Team World. Eh.

That's why I'm saying gloried exhibition. It's fun. But it's not competitive tennis. Or, at least in terms of the outcome.

Moxie,

I would not be surprised at all, Federer retires at the Laver Cup, maybe a reason that Novak has signed up for the Laver Cup this year.Roger has hinted he is quite happy off the tour.I know he would like to have one more shot at Wimbledon in 2023, I will be surprised if he appears.
I have to agree with you I much prefer Davis Cup to Laver Cup any day., though they have stuffed up Davis Cup format, even some of the players do not like the way they have changed it.

He has said that LC and Basel are both on his calendar this year, and even Fed Fans have long believed he'd retire at Basel, his home tournament. If it happens this year, I bet he will wait until Basel. Totally agree on what they've done to DC.

The top two seeds are in the Gstaad Final open tomorrow: Ruud vs. Berrettini. The H2H record is tied at 2-all. However, Ruud leads the H2H on Clay, 2-1. Hopefully, a good final.
