The ATP is actually looking into a Masters 1000 on grass with it likely being Germany or the UK for the site.
As I’ve always said, much more viable if you have at least 4 weeks between the two Slams, that way you have the Masters 2 weeks after the FO and it concludes 1 week before Wimbledon.

It's amazing how the tennis tour calender has expanded over the decades! It's seems like just yesterday, there was the FO final, a quick week at Queens, then Wimbledon began! Now it's like a month before "The Championship" starts at SW19! Truly amazing change IMO! :shushing-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :-)2

The Scilian if you are still around, I had to take a phone call and kept my message short to you,

I read the news yesterday regarding the ATP chief looking into having a grass Masters, which I agree with
You and I had a conversation earlier this year, I said to you I do not think Queens tournament would be big enough to hold a grass Masters.
This is not the first time having a Grass Masters, it was also brought up with the out going ATP chief, again no action.
At present I have zero faith in the current ATP chief, who had promised after the disgusting incident of verbal abuse, and racket abuse of the feet of the umpire by Zverev, he promised tougher laws and fines....we are still waiting? thank goodness there have been no incidents of that degree, still there have been incidents of abusive behavior, spitting etc and the players get a fine.
We are still waiting for the outcome of the domestic, abusive, allegations from Zverev's former girlfriend which has taken over one year and a half? from the ATP to investigate and give a ruling, apparently from what I have read there should be a final outcome at the end of July, quite frankly it would not surprise me if there is still no outcome.

This Iznah Open they are holding in Hotlanta has been a hard road for the Americans today. Giron and Sebbie sent home early by Asian players and Nakatomi pushed to a decider by pornstache.

There are ways to make it happen. The talks include upgrading Halle or Queens Club or possibly Hamburg becoming a grass court event. Remove one of those clay court events happening after Wimbledon to clay court season and move Wimbledon back a week.

I guess they can't upgrade The Hall Of Fame event giving the USA 4 Masters 1000 events w/ Canadian Open making it 5 in No. America! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy:

There are ways to make it happen if the tour is really serious about it. They probably need to take a good look at their schedule anyway and restructure it.

Musetti was No 60 in the rankings, before his first title win, he will be No 31 now and should be seeded for the USO this year, hopefully with this win, his first ATP title, will give him the confidence going forward.
I watched up until when Alcaraz broke to even the 2nd. Up until then, I would say he was playing tight, and I think it was you who asked how he'd fare being the #1 seed for the first time. Not so well, I guess. But congratulations to Musetti, who played very well, from what I say, and I do like his game and hope the best for him in the future.

I have always felt Musetti has a good overall game, probably facing Alcaraz he was feeling the pressure, those 2 have played against one another in challenger events, with Alcaraz winning. As Rafanoy pointed out yesterday and I think we all agree, he needs going forward, more physical training, he does tend to go away in matches, in a physical sense, also the mental side of his game needs improving, though I was impressed even with those MPs he missed he buckled down and went on to win the match

Fognini not the same player anymore, he is on a decline.

A WC Mili Poljicak, croatian who won wimbledon juniors this year played Cecchinato last night. It was a fun match. Italian won at the end, but young croat with a crowd behind him gave a seasoned clay courter a run for his money.

I was wondering if you were going get to see some of the tennis this week. Are you going to see anything else?

No Moxie, I'm down south a few hundred kilometers away (for us that's a long way haha). They have a nice tennis tournament in Umag, used to play there as a kid couple of times. They broadcast matches on national tv channel which is not part of a subscription, so that is cool.

Now I need to go back to work in about a week. My dream summer is going to end soon, but I'm recharged from all the sunbathing and swimming. Yeah, summer is great. Completely different from everyday duties with kids and all.
