Yet Karatsev gets better and takes the first set off of Novak, even though Novak broke back when Karatsev was serving for it. @Front242, your man is doing some of what you were looking for.
Wanted to watch it from the start but was knackered and went for a 1 hour nap :D Glad it's still on. Watching now. Decent showing from Karatsev alright.

wowee djokovic lost to the "borg in reverse" bloke. i keep forgetting his name even though i just checked the sodding scores.

barca final lining up a topofthetable clash though, with rafa and a goating (for him at least) tsitsy.

I knew Djokovic Karatswv match had potential of being great and it was. More than 3 hours of tough battle, most of it was good quality. Novak clay game is too weak, QF of RG max with his current form. King Aslan too strong for Nole.

Novak was asked whether he might play Madrid,

"I don't know,I am sick of making plans,to be honest.Grand Slams remain the main focus".
I think Novak was not happy with his performance in the s/final,probably said that in the 'heat of the moment' after the match.

He lost at home being a strong favourite to win a whole thing and now went down in semis, it is kind of embarrassing.

Novak's BP conversion was embarrassing to say the least,I feel a defeat like this, will only make him more determined.

BP conversion was like Federer's. He does come back stronger after defeats like this, but the way he plays at the moment is not promising at all. Maybe it is all part of a bigger plan. The way he closed down the 2nd set was great and he should be showing more of that.

He did look tired at the end as well, I don't know, looks like he is done for the clay. He can't grind in those long rallies like he used to.

The match went for 3 hours on clay that is both physical and mental, both players looked tired to me.It is only early days in the clay season,so I would not be over worried.

TBH, I thought you were kind of bandwagoning the guy early on, but I'll give you credit for being right about his game. :smooch:
Could see from how cleanly he hits the ball that he's definitely not a fluke since the AO. Backhand is super impressive and today what impressed me most was his return of serve and the depth on some of the shots on service returns was nuts. There was one in set 3 when it hit the back of the baseline and jumped up awkwardly and Djokovic just shook his head. He's fast becoming my favourite player after Federer. Still like Medvedev also when he's playing well.

Do you think his game suits grass?
