Rafa even struggled a bit with Roger in the final, I don't see the getting better by the round really mattering there. Of course he got better from round 1 when he went 5 with Isner. The fact Djokovic easily beat Nadal at 2 majors after Nadal gained confidence from winning RG is definitely not a point in your favor. There really isn't anything suggesting that match would be in Nadal's favor aside from you being a stubbornly biased fan.
Amusing of you to go all statesman-like and talk to me about making an argument for something that never happened, when you holler about it all the time. At least I'm only making the case for a Major that Rafa did already actually win. ;) And see Wimbldoner's above. It's not just me.

Wimbledonerer rightly pointed out it wasn't a sure thing. Where have I said that Djoker would've definitely won the match? I'm just talking about what likely would have happened. Also note that I still am glad Roger won that semi. No one ever accomplished anything great by losing. Fed gave himself a chance to win the tournament regardless of how small it was. Also what you say is true, if Nadal had beaten Djokovic there he may well have done better the rest of the year. I just don't think he would have beaten Djokovic in the final.

All we can do is opine over a match that never happened, so you're entitled to your opinion. But don't tell me I'm being stubborn and biased for having mine. I'm at least on the side of the guy who actually won the big silver cup. You're making a stronger case for the guy who lost in the SF and looking at me like I'm reinventing history to suggest that Rafa had a better chance in that match.

Lol, yeah discussing that semi is a bit like opening a can of worms. All I can say is that the crowd got what they deserved.

I'm glad you're happy about that. But I seem to remember your being one of those who hoped he'd lose before that match happened. Even maybe one of those calling for him to tank it. Do tell me if I'm wrong, but that's the way I remember it, because I was shocked at the time.

I think you're wrong but I'm not positive as it was definitely something that was on a lot of Fed fans' minds. Obviously Nadal would beat our guy but could we truly root for him to lose? I know once the match started I wanted Fed to win like any other match, but heading in I don't recall. That match aged well if I can use that term again, it was an amazing performance even if it had an obvious consequence.

But you are being stubborn and biased and it's ok. Some may say I'm the same on occasion. And yes I do think you're reinventing history a bit but who cares in the end. What happened is all that matters. Nadal got a nice birthday present from Roger and even Fed admitted that.

LOL on bolded above. :) You can't tell me I'm wrong when we're speculating about something that didn't happen. Nor can you tell me I'm reinventing history, since we're talking about a what-if scenario. While it's amusing that you're so certain that you're right and I'm wrong about a thing that is not knowable, you're really not allowed to insult me over my position.

If there is any justice in this world, then Nadull doesn't pass the first week of Wimbledon with dried up high bouncing grass. He got what he deserved in the first week.

I didn't see his first week matches but this was the first time he passed week one without losing a set. :p

I want a Brit to win Wimbledon mainly because I'm a patriotic Brit & we don't win very often. I know I'm being optimistic here rather than realistic but we're all allowed to hope.

He's been gifted two Wimbledon's too many due to that shit surface they play on. He didn't deserve to be anywhere near another final there.

Sorry but it was widely thought that Djoker would've had Nadal's number if they met in the final. That's why there was that discussion among Fed fans. And I'm sure the less homeristic Nad fans would agree he was probably losing that final without Roger's intervention. I think you're reinventing history in acting as though Nadal's chances were high.

Good choice. It wasn't as enjoyable as the previous years. We're guaranteed atleast one roast per year at slams but we were deprived of that this year. I hope it's accounted for at USO.

No he shouldn't have, Roger should have. It was his tournament to lose and he choked on a cupcake. Roger doesn't need an obnoxious high bounce to succeeed on grass, rather he has been successful despite that garbage surface. Give him a proper fast, low bouncing surface and no way he wins a measly 8 of the past 16.

Djokovic isn't back to what he was. Yes I think Fed would have been the favorite if at a decent level but clearly he didn't bring that at this event. Djoker showed he could handle a donut, Roger choked on the frosting :)
