There really isn't anything wrong with this surface for him this year. His problem is first week with normal weather where he simply doesn't have any game and is vulnerable vs anyone. This court is bouncing stupid high, it's pretty fast but he cares more about height of the bounce, that's what makes him strong or weak.

Yeah weather has been kind to him, but I also think he is genuinely playing quite well on the grass this year.

Sorry but you can't really separate those things. He is automatically going to play well if the ball is bouncing fairly high. Also he has played 4 really weak players it has to be said, a bit different from prior years.

Not really. I have watched all his matches and I can say that he struggled a lot during the first 3 matches, but his opponents had no serve, which could have troubled him. However, he looked better today against Vesely, and his strategy was simply to play low balls to the Czech. Vesely's serve was bad too, and he could hardly hit routine forehands. I think he has not faced any player with significant weapons so far.

Yes, fake grass helps the evil one's chances. Roger has managed to lose 3 QF's somehow in his career, only 12-3 in that round. A poor 8-3 in finals and an acceptable 11-1 in SF's. Clearly he gets worse later in the tourney as it becomes even slower.

He just isn't that good IMO. People hype him because he's had such bad luck with his wrist.

Luck has nothing to do with it! Using his technique of slapping at the ball to get pace is what's jarring the joint! I've hit the ball like that, but only intermittently to get a little pop on a passing shot! It's no accident DP's been the most hobbled of the top players over the years; but it's really on him and his decision to play this type of grinding tennis! :whistle:

I'm greedy and I want them both. Realistically if Djoker is back he's probably taking USO. This tourney is Roger's to lose regardless of who is across the net.
