Vesely’s returning is aweful.
I saw some fire again at RG, notably the match he lost actually. He seems cool and ruthless at the moment, but he hasn’t been tested. I think Rafa would be better for him than DP tbh if he gets there. This tourney may end up being the return of Djoker. Won't know for sure until the semi if he gets there but he's brushing aside semi-dangerous opponents with ease again.

Agreed...up a set and a break vs. Khachanov. From his social media, he also seems to be in a fighting mood (apathy seems gone) which is really only good for tennis. This tourney may end up being the return of Djoker. I think Djokovic takes out Federer in 4 or 5 sets in the final. Unless it rains in the final and it's played indoors.
Assuming DP doesn't f'up and gets there, I just don't see Rafa blowing that QF. Do you see Rafa losing to a guy he just bagelled in a USO SF? That too after waiting for 7 years to get back to the his beloved clay courts of second week Wimbledon?I’m fancying DPs chances against Rafa. They might need to reserve the court for the two all day tho.
I too have a bad feeling about DP stinking it up vs Simon. And if not he may bend over for Rafa again, he hasn't really been competitive with Rafa in an important match for a long time now aside from semi-important Olympic semifinal in 2016. And Rafa already won gold so DP had way way more on the line there.

I always thought so about Del Potro. He seems to play his best tennis against Federer. Maybe it's that 2009 win at the UO that gives him confidence against Federer. This is what annoys me about DelPo - and I said something last week about how all of these guys get hyped up to play Roger...but don't do that against Nadal. On grass you would think that DelPo would say to himself that he has a much better chance because grass is not exactly Nadal's BFF. But...I'm not expecting much. He'll undoubtedly have a new injury between now and Wed...
Question for all the feddies: did Fed go to Djokovic’s local thrift shop and pi
Nadal is playing great atm, quite impressed. But this is his first QF here since 2011. It’s not his surface. DP on the other hand is actually not that bad and can play first strike tennis. It will be an interesting match for sure, but DPs chances will be better than those of jiri journeyman today.
