Very happy, Novak is really getting back to his old self. Very focussed good performance.

Happy to see Ernie back too.
I think you more happy with the tournament director choice of grass n balls

And you are as bad as Darth. I think we are watching great tennis, I don't have any idea what Federer is going to do but I don't think he is doing too bad. And I don't see even long ryllies either, I would say that some players are playing more aggressive and making a good volleys, serve and short points. Maybe to you the best tennis is shooting torpedos serves which for many tennis followers is far to be too entertaining. Both of you are going to far and taking everything out of context. Why are you so worry?

No, I don't like serve bots but I like seeing winners being hit and it's much harder to hit them on this crap grass and with these heavier balls. Haven't watched any of Federer so far here but will try and watch him now tonight. The problem is it's now so slow it only caters for the players who play retriever tennis which many of us here find ugly and extremely boring. The guys with big serves deserve to have at least one slam where they have an advantage but the tournament directors have denied them this by slowly things down so much. The tennis tournaments are meant to have diversity but the powers that be at the ATP want everything the same speed everywhere, which sucks for people who like variety. It's like wearing the same clothes everyday, eating the same food everyday, etc. Besides a handful of courts, the whole tennis tour is pretty much almost the same year long now which is a joke.

He hasn't played much and entered with a protected ranking so probably just stiffness from lack of match play. Wasn't going to win on this slow grass anyway. Didn't serve that well which messed up his chances more than anything else, along with way too many errors. Best of 3 to ease himself back will probably help in the hard court season.

Looks like a prick and loser alright. Also you can make RBA's initials out of his name which clearly proves he's a fan of tennis akin to the art of suck.

A) I didn't deny it was slower. The conditions are clearly playing slower.

B) Yeah, a commentator who's an all time great but doesn't compete anymore. Meaning he's talking based on a comparison with whatever balls he practiced with or played doubles (if he indeed did) with 12 months ago. So yeah, I'll go ahead and wait for players that are actually active and played a substantial amount of tennis last year to comment on the issue. Nothing crazy about that. So this constant crying by Fed fans here is based on a casual hitting session that McEnroe engaged in? OK there.

Again, I am not saying the balls were or weren't changed. I'm saying when something like that typically happens, we get confirmed reports... as opposed to old timers hitting the courts for a bit.

As for your second paragraph... do you hear yourself? I thought it was Nadal fans' specialty to rant like children (no offense but you guys should check this thread again and read some of the stuff you've written).

Ah so you are clearly not reading it properly. Mac and Fleming hit around balls used in last year's tournament and balls from this year's tournament on the same day on the same court so as to have a side-by-side comparison. id say that's convincing enough.

As for the part about the tournament director you are acting like this is a 9/11 type conspiracy. You don't think it's possible the guy has been making changes based on the type of tennis and/or players he personally enjoys? If not I'd like to hear his reasoning for making this slow as hell.

I read into this just as you do, with my own perspectives
That's Mac job is to create interest..is Mac or Fleming in the Wimbledon singles draw , no..if the players aren't bitchin that the courts are too slow or the balls are hurting their arms , why are you two or etc

Probably because they're worried Rafa is going to beat Roger. Let's call a spade a spade - I know I am. Roger is playing well but not like he was earlier in the year, and Rafa seems to be handling grass just fine. So I think there is fear growing in the Fedfan ranks and some are already looking for excuses for a possible loss.

They're worried also about Novak..when Novak and Andy got knocked out early at AO..nothing was said but the serving time intervals..when Roger took advantage and abused the medical timeouts, all was said, its about time or he was deserving ..like he had some darn earned credit..

Yes, there is a real possibility that Rafa can beat Roger at this Wimbledon, however I would not say that Rafa is handling grass that well when you consider the opponents he has faced so far. I watched the Roger-Zverev match very closely, and I have to confirm the slowness of the court. The ball is hardly skidding. Instead, it seems to remain suspended in the air, waiting to be whacked, and the rallies are longer. Roger will struggle with longer rallies if he will end up facing Djokovc or Nadal. I feel that the surfaces have to be 'specialized'. Therefore I think the concerns are justified.
