To talk about conspiracy is one of the most silly things I can read around here even that I read so many every single day.

Thanks for the info Kskate.

That said I think we can all pump the breaks about cries of conspiracy and a supposed ball change based on an off hand remark by a commentator.

No offense but this is crazy. "An offhand remark by a commentator" who just happens to be an all-time great that practiced with balls from last year and balls from this year. There have been a bunch of players talking how slow it is compared to last year (that thread I posted above) and I haven't seen anyone say it's faster.

Call a spade a spade, the director clearly likes long, grinding rallies at best. Maybe he wishes this was RG or AO. At worst he is a fan of a certain player or players and likes to better the odds while still calling this a grass court tournament. This isn't a one year thing obviously. If it was I'd be more understanding but for over 10 years they have only made it slower and slower. I'm with Front, I will be happy when this guy is removed however it comes about.

Last year ..or the year before did you and Front make these assumptions about the Wimbledon grass courts conditions..I am just honestly asking I don't recall

It's been slow for years now. That's no secret. But this year is just ridiculous altogether and if people can't see how much slower it is compared to last year, I'd say go watch another sport or run to the nearest optician. Changing the balls was just one more ugly step in the wrong direction and they need to fire that tournament director right away. Some nerve making it even slower this year. Disgusting. The tennis calendar is meant to be about diversity and now the clowns want everything the same. SLOW. The game is no longer about skill, it's about stamina and shot making skills and having a decent serve are now rendered mostly useless.

So that means that all players have to make adjustments or just the big servers and fast grass courts players? You tell me

Is it really so hard to understand the big servers have their chances ruined as do the shot makers and the less skilled who play ugly, retriever tennis have an obvious advantage? I shouldn't need to tell you. This should be clear as day. Karlovic lost in the first round. That wouldn't happen with normal balls and proper grass...

Because they changed the balls this year and made it even slower.
So you were okay with the slow grass but when they added the heavier balls this really has been your bug a boo..

Has the pros been complaining that the heaviness of the balls have hurt their arms or shoulders ..or is it just you and Darth perception that the game is so painfully unmercifully slower that you would prefer to have a coffee enigma than endure watching great tennis..you tell me

I agree, diversity is what we need. With surfaces that play very differently, we can see how versatile a player is. Now there is not that much adjustment needed when moving from clay to grass if the grass is not as fast as it should be. I don't understand why Wimbledon officials would want long rallies when we have them at RG only a few weeks earlier.

So this is all about our beloved Dr Ivo(Evil)..when a 38 year old man looses to a player 10 years plus his junior..you feel some questionable changes in the balls and the court conditions has been the primary cause? Again you tell me

Man, you're getting as bad as Carol. Who said anything about hurting their arm or shoulders?! It's obvious, normally fast serves are no longer anywhere near as fast and therefore much easier to return and it's much harder to hit winners. The problem is we CAN'T watch great tennis. You seem to have missed that whole point. Btw, you really think it's just Darth and myself complaining when Dustin Brown, McEnroe and Fleming have already pointed out the balls are much heavier, leading to slower play? Always about the Fed fans, eh?! Sigh. You really think a s&v guy like Mac would like to see horrible, slow tennis? No. Didn't think so. Although he would prefer to see Nadal win than Federer, that's obvious in his not so hidden bias. But I'm sure he'd rather see him play in proper conditions, i.e. real grass and not this shite.

Geez man, get a grip. With the serve Ivo has he could win matches into his late 40s, BUT with proper balls and grass. 100% yes, I think this is why he lost.

No this has nothing to do with Carol..this is AP..my question was has the pros complaining that the balls were too heavy..has the heavier balls hurt their chances .. if No then why you and Darth are complaining..who cares what Dustin Brown's thinks or says..no one valued his opinion previously so why now..So let me take you continuously down this rabbit hole of a topic.,Have the Pros said they have suffered because of the so called heavier balls ..answer this question my good Sir

I value Brown's opinion 'cos grass season is where he excels and if he says conditions were a lot slower then clearly it hampered his chances in a big way. Not that he was going to beat Murray either way but you can imagine the match would have been much closer if the court and balls weren't so awful. But then again, maybe he might have beaten Murray too. We'll never know. I'd like to see them play best of 5 at Newport on proper grass. Halle is faster than this crap too but Newport is the best grass court on tour still.

Bedene is no great shakes and who said he was more prepared ? Players don't need to be prepared at all to play on this crap. No matter how good your shot making and serve are, they're both completely neutralized here.

Novak's already arguing with the umpire. Don't tell Mastoor, or soon Jake Gardner will also be sleeping with the fishes.
