Roddick was only number 1 for a few weeks but I think you missed one grand slam champion who hits quite a few aces (10,000 since his last match over his career) and was number 1 for 302 weeks. Hint, he out aced Roddick in the Wimbledon 2009 final. Ok, enough hints now.
My point was you need more than just a big booming first serve. Yes Roger has a fantastic serve but he has more variety to his game.

Djoker' problem may be that he has a total cakewalk to the semi. That doesn't help matters if you play a great player in the semi. But yes I would be worried if that's the semi, Djoker still has great tennis in him. Also I hate to say it but I appear to be wrong about the draw for Fed, looks like the seeds are playing out and he is going to face Zverev, Dimitrov, Raonic/Sascha, and Djoker just to get to the final. That is tough, I expected a couple of them to be upset, still could happen but very unlikely.

I agree Djokovic's draw looks easier now, although R3 is still harder than Feds.

You should be. I am calling a notable improvement in Djokovic's play here at Wimbledon.

I think he will trouble Fed. It might not be enough, but the tide is turning.
I didn't watch this part live. Apparently, Medvedev had some fight with the umpire and was throwing coins at the umpire when he was leaving after losing. He wanted the umpire to be changed during the match and was not granted his wish (does he think he is Rafa to get the umpire changed at his will?) Apparently, he had been earlier fined for calling an umpire a racist in some other tourney.
well the newly anointed "master of coin" will have to find $14,000 worth of coins to pay his new dumbass fine

Oh, Nice. Novak gets to face world #589 (no, this is not a sarcastic arbitrary number, this is the real ranking) in third round. He would then face a clown in the fourth and either a dirty kid or mental midget in QF.

Getting nervous already? :lightning:

You might want to check though who that number 589 is.

Nope, not at all nervous. Just saying your guy has an easy path to SF at the altar of TMF. Thank god Pepe is there to teach him it is all about love and peace.

And no, Roger is not the same age as Rafa but that didn't stop him from beating him all 3 times they played this year.

Best of 3 doesn't count in this rivalry. It's just practice for Rafa. He is casing the target before moving for the kill.

I'm always nervous but I have a worse feeling about the first 5 rounds than I would about the semifinal and final. Sounds weird I know but Dimitrov and Raonic/Sascha could take advantage of a bad day at the office. Dimitrov is clobbering people suddenly and has an easy third round, I still don't see him as too big of threat but he could pose problems if he's playing well. Raonic if healthy is a worry and Sascha is a bit too though Fed should handle either.

If Fed makes the semis I think he takes the tournament, he's pissed away enough Wimbledon's the past 9 years at the SF/finals stage, it'd be past time to finish the deal this year.

Best of 3 counts for sure, that's where a lot of momentum comes from. It made 2008 Wimbledon possible with Fed getting clowned by Rafa on clay. It also made 2011 Nole-Rafa a lot worse at the slams where Nole destroyed him in the Wimbledon and USO finals.

I disagree. I'd much rather face Gulbis than Zverev at this point.

I'd had to watch their matches at Wimbledon this year to compare. But based on their resumes Gulbis has a higher ceiling. I can see that Zverev has a type of game that can trouble anyone on grass, but he hasn't really ever shown it has he? I think this is the first time the guy is seeded at a slam and he has been around for a while.

Zverev is on the rise and Gulbis hasn't been heard from in a couple years. He is dangerous for sure though.

Fed loses serve and trailed 0-2 in the first set. But, then he broke right back and then it went on serve until they reached TB. Fed brought on big game for the TB and won it 7-0.

But, as I sais this guy Dusan has a very good serve. He is winning his service games in just about 2 minutes almost Federeresque.

Not happy with the grass warrior.

As awesome as he's been his serve isn't what it normally is. He's been broken 6 times in 8 grass matches so far this year against non-elite competition, definitely not what we would expect.

Gulbis lost two weeks ego vs the almost retired Robredo. Today Delpo's serves have been at 70% and also with that bad BH he would have lost vs anyone

Don't worry. The service breaks are due to minor rust caused by non-use. He will peak at the right time.

Brown says: "Compared to the last two years ...... the balls are lot slower". Advantage Rafa.

Fed wins second set. Just a one break win. Dusan is still playing (especially serving) well though.
