The rematch of Last year's finalists looks almost certain (considering Ferrer is not expected to do well even if he chooses to play).

Also, the two frenchies Boxer and Clown are slated to meet in 3rd round with the winner getting the right to face Samurai.

You're on a roll with your nicknames today GSM. And the scary thing is we all know exactly who you're talking about.

The even scarier part is, any of them could be "Clown". :snicker

I honestly can't see a way for Novak not to make the finals. Like I'm literally trying to picture him losing any of these matches and I just can't.

Actually , Novak,'s record at the US Open is not very good. Yes, he has made it to numerous semi finals but has a very pedestrian record in the finals. I see you are not saying that he will win the title but you are saying he will "place" ( horse racing terms, win , place or show).I watched the match vs Goffin in Cincinnati
Goffin really had an opportunity to gain a victory but Novak showed true grit of a champion.

Novak has reached the US Open final 4 out of the last 5 times. That's a very good record of reaching the final, which I'm predicting will happen (hardly a balsy prediction, mind you). And the guys he's lost to at the US Open since 2007 have been Federer, Federer, Federer, Nadal, Murray, Nadal and Nishikori. OK, that last one isn't like the 3 others before him, but he's only losing to the absolute elite for the most part. Safe to say he won't be losing to Goffin or washed up Rafa who might not even make it there to begin with.

It's amazing how you take such an offensive when someone doesn't share your views. Watch this is going to happen next, you are gonna make some condencing reply, about 3,people will "liked"your reply and it will spawn about 6 responses from the Fdjoker( Fed Fans who like Djokovic because he has gotten the best of Rafa the past few years and that he isn't a threat to overtake their Beloved).,Truth be told, I am telling the God's honest truth but I truly don't give damn

You know, what, I'll bite. Let's analyze my post, sentence by sentence and see where I took "such an offensive":

First sentence: "Novak has reached the US Open final 4 out of the last 5 times. That's a very good record of reaching the final, which I'm predicting will happen (hardly a balsy prediction, mind you)."

This sentence simply points out Novak's record at the US Open for the past 5 years, and articulates my prediction that he will reach the final -- a prediction I even admitted is not exactly the most courageous in the world.

Second sentence: "And the guys he's lost to at the US Open since 2007 have been Federer, Federer, Federer, Nadal, Murray, Nadal and Nishikori."

This one simply names the guys Novak has lost to.

Third sentence: " OK, that last one isn't like the 3 others before him, but he's only losing to the absolute elite for the most part. "

This one starts out by admitting that Nishikori is not exactly Federer, Nadal or Murray, and therefore, that loss wasn't Novak's finest hour, but that for the most part, he only lost to his 3 main rivals.

Final sentence: "Safe to say he won't be losing to Goffin or washed up Rafa who might not even make it there to begin with."

Clearly, this is to highlight that Novak has an easy draw as Goffin is the highest ranked player in his section while Rafa's form indicates he might not even make the QF, and even if he does, his chances of beating Novak are minimal.

So...what exactly did you take issue with? And please, let's not play the "tell us how you really feel" game because I don't want to have to point out how sensitive you are, or how you act like a giant baby every time someone isn't complimentary of Nadal, or how you've thrown these random out of the blue fits at least a dozen times since the old forums and have directed them at me, nehmeth and others before. Let's also not point out how much of a delusional fanboy you can be.

And that's how I really feel.

Hey lads, let's not all us Rafa fans fall out with each other before the tournament. He needs as much positive mojo and juju as we can muster this time! :laydownlaughing

AP is mistaking darthfed for front. Except darthfed would never whine about these things, he'd just say Ferrer sucks.

True darth Fed isn't a whiner like Fronty whom I couldn't never mistaken for being Darth. Fronty whines about everything he feels is related to Rafa. Getting back on topic is pretty tough for Rafa and I think Krygios will loose but will cause Andy some complications

That's not what I meant. Darth is the most vocal about Ferrer being crap IMO. I don't consider it whining, cause I agree. I don't see the relation with Nadal, other than that Ferrer usually goes away meekly in a deciding set if he ever comes close to beating Nadal, which is almost never.

Who needs the USO title more?

Djokovic: going for 10th Slam, 3rd this year, 2nd USO title.

Federer: Looking for 18th Slam, on a 3-year drought for a major title.

Nadal: Streak of 10 straight years with a slam is in jeopardy, looking for 15th slam, 4th HC slam, chance to really move back up in the rankings.

Murray: Still looking for Slam No. 3, After a year of a AO final, two Masters, 4 titles and a win over Djokovic, needs a Slam to finish the comeback.

No, no. I think it is about time to see to who really is the best Rafa fan out there. I am sick of all the PM's I get from all of you offending and accusing each other.

I disagree.. Yes, I am a Rafa fan but not as delusional of a so call "fanboy " as you say. I have probably been one of the most critical Rafa fans of his current level of play, I think its fair to say that. You have me confused as for as saying that when someone is complimentary of Nadal. What does my past battles with Nehmeth and you have to do with the price of tea in China, although those battles were warranted. The huge difference is although Nehmeth and I have spared , just like Nehmeth has spared with Moxie and others lately and on the old forums, Nehmeth is Man enough to admit he is wrong at times.(that's as far as I will go because I this isn'tabout him.). I have stated times when I was wrong. You on the other hand have Never admitted that you are ever Wrong. Eg. for you to bring up the past shows that you continued to have animosity towards me which is fine because I can take it. I am built that way. If you post something that is not accurate, I will challenge you and not one who is afraid of your pitbull mentality. Speaking of Nehmeth, I think he recently address that issue with you. My answers to your reply is in line below.

AP All I said that you feel that Novak will Place( you are not saying that he will win but will be in the final. Djoker may make the finals but what will anyone ever remember, Did he bring home the championship title. He has won the title twice but lost 4 or 5 times. You think that is a good record for the person who is called the best hardcourt player in the world. Yes, his record at Cincinnati is beyond horrific but it happens. Eg. Rafa's record at the Austrialian Open is pretty much on par with Djoker's at the AO, Pedestrian.

Second sentence: "And the guys he's lost to at the US Open since 2007 have been Federer, Federer, Federer, Nadal, Murray, Nadal and Nishikori."

This one simply names the guys Novak has lost to.

Final sentence: "Safe to say he won't be losing to Goffin or washed up Rafa who might not even make it there to begin with."

AP If you feel that Goffin is not going to give him a challenge at the US Open although we all observed that wasn't the case in Cincy. So you are calling Rafa washed up,Well , coming from you, that really defining you as a "fair weather fan". I would think that pretty much being called worst than your favorite term that you called me a "fanboy"

Clearly, this is to highlight that Novak has an easy draw as Goffin is the highest ranked player in his section while Rafa's form indicates he might not even make the QF, and even if he does, his chances of beating Novak are minimal.

AP Rafa chances are not good but its a helluva lot better than his efforts at RG or SW19 because his confidence is growing and he "knows" how to defeat Novak at US Open.

AP, As for how you feel, As I said before, you are not able to move forward if you have been challenge in the past unfairly as you may have deemed. That's the difference between you and the rest of Us(the other posters). There is no need to hold a grudge. Really, if you look what I post earlier, there was no need for all of this. It becomes as I dare to say, almost a Cali like reply from you. That not a compliment. That's truly how I feel. Btw.. You forgot to mentioned that I was the one who was delusional to believe that Rafa needed to "flatten out his serve and forehands"

Wow, some truly exciting first rounders this year. Not only the ones mentioned above, but Nishikori v. Paire could be interesting. Or Sock vs. Estrella Burgos!

That second quarter could be wide open, with Nishikori, Ferrer, Tsonga, Cilic, Monfils, and Dimitrov.

I actually like Roger's quarter. No one too hard, but he should have some solid matches that won't just be walkovers for him.

The hell are you talking about? I said Novak will place, you said he might not (fair) because of his US Open record, I pointed out that his US Open record isn't that bad (so far, is any of this inaccurate?)...and for some reason that triggered a response in which you said "I took offensive" (the word you're looking for is offense, by the way). Again, I ask you, what part of me highlighting how Novak has for the most part, only lost to the elite at the US Open recently constitutes me taking offense to what you said? You also said I'm condescending and brought up "likes," which seem to mean a lot to you.

Only after you made that post and said I'm condescending or whatever did I personally explain what a baby you are.

And what does me being wrong have anything to do with this? I'm factually right about this. I predicted he'll reach the final, you said he might not because his record at the US Open isn't good, only my prediction was that he'll reach the final, and his record as far as reaching the finals go, is stellar. So yeah, I'm actually right about his record on the road to the final being good.

I said you're delusional re: Rafa's forehand back in 2011. Because back then you were claiming Rafa will figure out Novak that year, and predicting he would beat him in pretty much all of their meetings, and guess what, every time you were wrong and I was right, because last I checked, Novak beat him 7 straight times. So yeah, I wouldn't bring that up if I were you.

PS: A-P, you're right, you're not delusional, not a fanboy and you've been very critical of Nadal's play this year, and at no point did you ignore it because of your fanboyism.

Exhibit A: "Rafa in 4 or 5. He will be ready on Wednesday." -- Anti-Pusher. The match in question? Nadal vs Djokovic, French Open 2015 quarter final.

link: http://www.tennisfrontier.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3926&page=2

Exhibit B, and this one is a gem: "Enough, ( not directed at you Miss Carol ) but all this talk and concerned over Dustin Brown is something that I will not try to comprehend. Last year at Halle, Rafa was physically spent from playing winning the RG championship. All due respect to DB but Rafa really was happy to show up and collect the appearance fee at Halle. Sure, he would have liked to advanced further but he really wasn't focused to play a player like Brown who didn't have anything to loose. No excuses but Rafa will defeat this guy in straight sets and I would be very surprised if he doesn't. Brown is a dangerous player on grass but he is playing one of the greatest tennis players of almost every generation, he will be ready to dispose of DB. Trust me ." -- Anti-Pusher, I think the match in question is obvious enough.

Sure , I was wrong about RG and the Dustin Brown match.. Is this what the board is about.. predictions.. tell you what.. I will let this stand.. there have been times in 2010 and 2013 that I was on point.. However, I wont go back to add those gems
