Hewitt takes the first set 7-6!

Wally Masur is a genius.
Than I am too because I already said two days ago that they should let Lleyton play instead. ;)

Yes, you are ;)

Hewitt wins and they clinch the victory. The veterans showed the green fellas how it is done!

Simon takes the first set 6-4. And now breaks Murray to start the 2nd. Murray looking very tentative.

Still a long way to go, but as I speak Murray looks a complete mess.

Russia turned the match with Spain up side down and came out on top with 3-2, after being down 0-2.

In the last two singles, Donskoy defeated Robredo and Rublev defeated Andujar.

Murray won that second set with pure grit and determination. Simon has gotten a bit tentative than at the beginning. Murray threatening to run away with the third set now.

Congrats to Great Britain. What an effort by Andy Murray. All three wins. He was overcome with emotion after the match.

The 2015 Davis Cup final four is set! It's Australia at Great Britain and Argentina at Belgium on September 18-20.

:approved: :approved:
all we have to do to reach our first davis cup final since losing to usa in dec1978 is defeat the rather unpredictable aussie's.

is it a home tie for gb ?...if so its going to be Wimbledon for sure.

Well Wimbledon would also be the Aussie's best shot too. They have some very big servers and grass is actually the Aussie's best surface too as well.

only other option is braehead Scotland or that one in telford (if its still going), on hardcourt.

dunno. I think andy and co might prefer grass, its andys best surface too.

Yes, it is a home tie for "Scotland" and as such they have choice of ground. ;)

I think winner of GB vs. Aussie wins the DC. It was not as easy a walk in the park for GB (as it would have been if the Kazaks had reached SF). But, if they can clear SF, I think the trophy is for them to take home.

Spain gets to spend another year in the trenches of Group I. But, they should take heart as GB had previously stooped as low as Group III, if I recall correctly. :cover

They'll be back there soon enough! I wouldn't bet on them knocking the USA out again; even with the pathetic so called top players we insist on utilizing every year! :nono :cover
