The point pushy is that you just told a poster - either probably or obviously (you used both in the same sentence) that they never played a competitive sport at a 'high level'. How do you know that just by their post?

Well, yes.. If you played competitely at a high level, you dont say that Roger dislikes Rafa or whomever because he has lost close matches to him.. that not how things work.. Is that clear to you now

Wrong. Connors never liked McEnroe and Sampras and Agassi still don't like each other. And I am pretty sure they did play competitive sport at a high level. So maybe Fiero did too... and maybe you could ask first?

Nehmeth, You really are a piece of work at times.. You say Connors never liked McEnroe, I dont think that is true. Connors, McEnroe, Vitas and Borg all was party buddies in the late 70's and early 80s. Vitas was the glue. Yeah , they were enemies on the court, that happen all the time .I never saw that Connors Ever said he didnt respect McEnroe.. As for if Fiero ever played competively or etc.. let that person speak for themselves.. I did say "probably", I am not sure but it doesnt sounds like this person did

Federer has a lot of respect to Rafa as player and also a good relation even sometimes they can be disagree about something like many friends are. He knows perfectly well about how many times Rafa has had to go through injuries and what good person and honest he is but his fans want to see it in different way thinking that would "help" more his losses for years against his worst opponent on court
Players have better relation between them than their fans, they fight on court because they want to win but out of the court is a different story

As for fake medical timeouts how long have you been watching your precious Nadal? He doesn't resort to it as often anymore but the "suspect" timeouts were a big part of his and Uncle Homie's playbook for quite awhile to break momentum.

Yeah, it's all in the timing. For instance, he pulled one in the Wimbledon final in 2007 when he was murdering Federer in the fourth. Could well have cost Rafa the title. You got to time these things to perfection.

Murray is way worse except for calling the trainer. In many matches he grabs a different body part after darn near every shot he misses. As for calling the trainer...you're a Nadal fan right? And you're complaining about potential fake timeouts :laydownlaughing

And you are a Novak fan, right? If Nadal has called the trainer it was because he had a reason, if not check by yourself how many times he has been OUT of the court :eyepop :(

I'm a Federer fan who does like Novak and his game. I do agree that Nole can be dramatic on court at times when things aren't going his way. Rafa saves his drama queen act for when he is off the court for the most part. As for fake medical timeouts how long have you been watching your precious Nadal? He doesn't resort to it as often anymore but the "suspect" timeouts were a big part of his and Uncle Homie's
playbook for quite awhile to break momentum.

I see......most of the Fed's fans "like" Novak, he is far of the number 18, isn't? :p
I like Novak, he beat 7 times in a row to Nadal, I know, I hear about it many times lol but not for that reason I'm going to dislike him, he is a superb player since 2011 with ups and down like any player, I just don't like his "acting" so much, that's all

I don't mind Novak's acting on court. It's not his fault if the other guy is upset by it, unless that's his aim by it. If it is, then more fool the other fella. He ought to be concentrating on holding his serve, not on Novak holding his belly or head or thumb or ankle or whatever body bit is supposed to be afflicting him.

I don't even think Novak does this to upset his opponent. I think it's his method of regrouping, that's all. Now Pete, he was the master of playing possum. If I was a betting man, every time Pete leant on his racket gasping for breath, surely at death's door, I'd stick a ton on him to win. Worked like a charm for him almost every time... :)

I remember that perfectly well. It was the first time that Rafa started with his knee problems.
It's funny why some poster say something about his "fake injuries" but at the same time they talk about he is a pro injuries because his "style" of play. Pick up your your mind guys  :p

We are all a piece of work Push.

As a young lad when these guys were playing, there was little love lost on court. I'm not sure that Connors was out partying with Mac (I'd have to see a picture), but I do remember reading their comments toward each other. Andy's "sars" comments about Novak are friendly by comparison.

Thanks for dialing it back a little for Fiero. :)

Pete was the consummate actor. He could puke on cue and completely distract Corretja. (Mind you I'm kidding)

There has been a lot of media out cry here in Sydney, regarding Novak's 'faking of injuries' during the final at the AO.Main question has been how can he look down and out and stumble and fall on court, then regain full physical strength handing Murray a bagel in the 4th set,he also appeared to be struggling against Wawrinka at times in their s/final match, then again handed out Wawrinka a bagel in the 5th set.
Murray said in his press conference, that he was distracted a few time, especially when he saw Novak fall? he then stated he should not have let that distract him,I agree with Murray's statements.

Has anybody given any thought as to why Andy went AWOL at 2-0 up in the third? I mean, the guy had looked cool and resolved all tourney, then it looked like somebody flicked an off-switch...

Because Novak rolled his ankle or something and was walking around gingerly... :snicker

It was a high pressure moment in a seesaw battle, and he cracked.

I say it has a lot to do with these matches being such a grind! It's almost routine having hour long sets with points that go on for 20-30 strokes! I would have had a heart attack! In the old days, you had a few points like that which was always amazing! With it being passe it's hard to watch at times! You feel their pain; it looks so tough out there running all those miles to win one match! As conditioned as Andy is, the moment takes more toll and that's when he falters! No one does it better than Nole, wearing his opponent down so much, he feeds them a bagel at the end! :dodgy:

Stubborn as ever, we won't go down this road. Just pop in some tapes of Wimby 2010 vs. Petz, 2006 Monte Carlo vs. Fed and 2008 Hamburg vs. Fed. Or just having to take a piss before Roger served for the match at 2012 Indian Wells.

Or you can stick on a lot of tapes of Oz 2006, Wimbledon 2009, USO 2012, Oz 2013, USO 2014 - you won't find Rafa at any of them...

They were both physically in trouble, Novak started shortening the points and it worked out for him.

I don't think death wants to see 2009 Wimbledon tbh.

Yes I know, clearly Rafa was recovering from his season long bladder infection and couldn't play the 2012 USO :devil

For 12 out of 13 games?

There's no doubt, Nole is the bigger man but Andy's collapse was unprecedented and disappointing. Unless you're a Nole fan, of course! :p

Lol! It's got nothing to do with how close he is to "how close" he is to Rogers slam total. At least for me. Novak is a good sport, and doesn't generally play games on court. That's why I like him. He's cut out all the acting nonsense now. He acts like the number 1 he is. My only issue with him was really all about his parents. I think he's a class act on court
