Lol! Are you being deliberately obtuse? This is the wrong forum for it. I invite you to retract the comment of yours that I highlighted. Or accept the challenge we've put in front of you :lolz:
Vitas was the glue. ,, there's your challenge pal

Pushy, you are a piece of work sometimes... Connors and McEnroe never liked each other, they didn't party together. That's what you went after me about at the beginning. Doesn't matter if Vitas and Connors hung out... that doesn't mean a thing.

It's a classic deflection. A simple.. "oops I was wrong" and everyone would move on! :cover

Play to win.

If I were a tennis player and thought a back rub would help me win even if I didn't need it, I'd take it. Why not? I love winning and I love massages.

It's neither nice nor ethical, and would probably irritate the hell out of me if my opponent did it to me. But we're all hypocrites/selfish like that, let's not even act otherwise.

Let's drop the holier than thou attitude. It pisses me off in tennis. These guys are playing for millions, legacies, ego, etc...

Here's a great article by former Manchester United defender tackling the subject of a currently controversial player: Diego Costa. It's quite revealing regarding the attitude of a winner and his competitive drive (FYI, I think Gary Neville is a c*nt, but that's besides the point).

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11379981/Diego-Costa-is-a-monster-thats-why-I-love-him.html

Maybe this post belongs in my "controversial opinions" thread but I feel after years of sitting through these debates here, it's time I finally let out what everyone secretly thinks...unless Darth would be disgusted by Roger having a questionable medical timeout that ultimately helps him win a grand slam title. No, he wouldn't care, nor should he. I'm not advocating this and saying everyone should do it, but I'm saying I understand it when they do, and likely would have done the same.

Broken, I agree with you. As long as there is provision in the rules that allow for it, some players will take advantage of it to get an edge. Others may actually need the help.

No matter who it is, his fans will see it as necessary and non-fans will see it as gamesmanship.

Yes, to be clear, I am NOT saying it's OK to cheat. Gamespanship and cheating are different things.

That's an interesting Gary Neville article BS. I personally take a different view about sportsmanship in tennis versus football. Maybe that's just me being naive, I don't know. To be honest there are things that felt ok to do when I played football, but I would never have dreamt of when I played rugby. I think different sports have different standards of sportsmanship, but obviously that's just my own view. It's certainly an interesting view. Never the less, I personally have never said that what Rafa does in terms of gamesmanship is wrong so much as I personally loathe it. The only thing I think is totally out of order is the Uncle Toni coaching. Frankly if he wants to do that, he should go play on the WTA :D

In all seriousness though.. I think he is far too good a player to need to resort to these things. But it's a matter of taste

I have a picture of myself and Roger Federer at an event. Both smiling and looking at the camera. Does that mean we hang out all the time? :nono:

Pushy when you don't like something someone says, you come in and discredit them by telling them they don't know jack about this or they never played competitively... it's your way of invalidating them.

I'm no sheriff or judge. I just don't like it when you go after people using the same schtick,

I'm a fan. Easy on the "hard".. not sure what that means! :s But the point is valid. A pic, doesn't a friendship make. I'll take what both of those guys have said over some random photo opportunity :cover

I have a picture of Roger and I taken in 1999 or 2000.. before he became TMF.. Does that mean that we partied together..

Look F berg.. it was the 70s and 80s.. rivalies was just what it was.. at the end of the day.. both guys were huge sports figures which they had in common.. Just as I said to Nehmeth..

You should admit your situation. There would be more dignity in it.

I guess a picture of them at some event and another of the three of them in the snow completely refutes what Connors wrote in his book, or anything I ever read in the newspapers or tennis magazine when I was younger. Sorry.
