This match confirms my belief that Murray is most interesting (i.e., least pong-ish) when playing Nadal.
Tented if you recall, when Rafa defeated Murray last year at Rome, it was the final polish he needed before he regained the confidence at RG 14. If he is able to hold on today against Andy, maybe this is something that can be something that he can build on going forward.

I am not watching but looks like Rafa is playing himself into a decent form. He;ll probably win that group. Roger would do well to finish his group at the top and watch Rafa-Nole destroy each other, not unlike what happened to him last year with Stan.

My, admittedly uncharitable, thoughts too

I don't expect a Nole - Rafa semi to be a bloodbath on this stuff. If Nole rebounds at all Rafa won't beat him here. But obviously I'd hope for Roger to go against Murray in the semis instead of Rafa though it shouldn't matter.

Nole is the favorite in that scenario, no doubt but Rafa is a strange animal. He runs on confidence. A solid win over Murray, and then a decent start against Nole, he might make life difficult for him. And I am cool with that . ;)

Even if Murray loses this, he will still want to win the match against Stan, because then Roger would have to win the whole shebang to finish World #2 if I'm correct

I think if Murray wins his match against Stan, he is guranteed for year end No. 2 even if Roger wins WTF.

I'm not. Anything to get Wafa out of this sport, that's what I'm cool with :devil

Congrats to Nadal. He wanted and needed it more. Maybe he can finally win this tournament!

Murray just needs to drop out Federer style and go to Belgium where that's where he obviously wanted to be. All the "might not play the WTF" and practicing on clay courts the day before the tournament is not the way to prepare for the WTF. Obviously just going thru the motions. Maybe Jamie can lose to the Bryans tonight and they can just get on with preparing for the DC.

Let's have Fed-Stan in one semi, Nole-Rafa in the other and then maybe we can actually enjoy a good final this year.

Thanks for the vids, Pavlik.

I thought this would be the evening match and so I went out today, only heard the result after. Rafa still looks like he's on the Incline, but he's also hitting short a lot. No matter, he's beaten 2 of the top 4, and no matter what else happens, he's set himself up fair for next season... :clap

I, like others, thought Murray v Nadal was the night match. Wtf were they thinking lol? No more tennis for the day here anyway. Wawrinka v Ferrer. Pffff. No thanks.

U missed Andy taking out the scissors during a changeover and trimming his hair, good grief, that ain't in the Man code , well over here in the States it isn't.

LOL yeah I read about that :laydownlaughing Seriously though, cut a bit off? He should cut it all off. His haircut or lack of rather is a joke. The few times I've seen him clean shaven with a short decent haircut he's looked way less scruffy and ridiculous. Nothing wrong with stubble (need to shave myself!) but the way Murray's got dopey 100% hair under his chin/all way down his neck and nothing in the actual vicinity one would have a proper beard makes him look like a werewolf ffs. And he has fangs to go with it!
