McEnroe reckons he could still take Serena (but not in a boxing ring). I have my doubts, but I wouldn't be surprised. Haven't seen him hit in a long while...

I reckon he'd beat her also. The women use lighter balls which enables them to hit harder than they would using the balls the men use. My money would be on the old, know it all, every week a new player has the greatest forehand ever or is the greatest player of all time annoying git.

He just needs to shut up. Can barely hang w/ the likes of Roddick, Pete, Agassi and Courier on the Powerhares tour.

The same Roddick who serves 140+ mph? Serena wouldn't serve as fast as she does with the balls the men use and she wouldn't get anywhere with her lethargic slow starts. And I actually like Serena but I very much doubt she'd win.

I'm not saying she would win. I'm saying Mac needs to shut up, period.

I know, but the likes of them would slaughter Serena. I think Mac should play her. It'd be a bit of fun, while also putting an end to so much nonsense relating to women's tennis... :popcorn

What's there to debate about? Men are stronger than women. Women are smarter than men. That pretty much wraps it up nicely. ;)

Well, there's maybe all of this to debate but then we'd really be gone off topic. What about parallel parking? We could bring that into it too... :p :snicker

Well, I dunno if it was de Witt, because I don't know what he looks like, but the camera cut to Monfils box after he played his loser a-hole trickshot on game point against JJ, one set down, and whoever it was in the box shook his head as if to say, we work our socks off and the idiot goes on court and does this? :cover

Monfils coaching changes are primarily for the mental health and stability of the coaches.

No doubt. I don't really like these male vs female match arguments. But if they're going to do it, get someone who doesn't like the sound of their own voice like a Lendl, Chang, Pete or Rafter.

Andy Murray has clinched #1 spot in USO Series.:clap
Novak has clinched #2 spot in USO Series.:clap
Fed has not clinched, but is likely to clinch, #3 spot in USO Series.:dodgy:

With only one event left to play here are the standings:

1. #Andy Murray (GBR) 145
2. ^Novak Djokovic (SRB) 140
3. Roger Federer (SUI) 100
4. John Isner (USA) 95
T5. Marcos Baghdatis (CYP) 45
Jeremy Chardy (FRA) 45
Alexandr Dolgopolov (UKR) 45
Kei Nishikori (JPN) 45
T9. Gilles Muller (LUX) 40
Rafael Nadal (ESP) 40
T11. David Goffin (BEL) 30
Ivo Karlovic (CRO) 30

As Isner flamed out early, he did not get points from three different tournaments and so his points will not be doubled (he is not playing in Winston-Salem).

Only Baghdatis from the list above is playing in Winston-Salem. In order to displace Fed from the
#3 slot, he needs to win Winston-Salem outright. Anything short of that, Fed will be #3.

Also, only the top three finishers get extra money based on how far they go. It does not matter whether you finish #4 or #200.

I think to be considered for the bonus money you have to take part in two events of the US Open series. So while by the points technically being third, Roger by just playing Cincinnati won't be eligible for the final standings of the US Open series.

You are right. Fed is not eligible for Bonus Prize Money as he played in just one USO series tourney. No allowance for Lenny and Leo this year. :laydownlaughing

Isner will then take the third place unless Baggy usurps him in W-Salem.

They don't need to reach the final to get extra money. How much bonus money they get depends on how far they go. But, even if they lose in the very first round at USO, finishing #3 in the series gives them extra $3750, as per the Bonus Money Chart , for which many ordinary people have to work at least a month.

It's funny that USTA feels that it has to dangle all sorts of carrots in front of the players to get them to play in their tournaments. This US Open Series thing is a 90s-type relic where the ATP was still trying to figure out what the heck it wanted to do. They have found their formula but predictably, the USTA is still stuck in the 90s and trying to make something work when the Series days are clearly numbered.
