At the time I hadn't seen Davis play and I thought what a silly thing to let drive you crazy. But I now agree with them. Maybe Davis doesn't mean it that way, but it looks like a show off move. Add me to the list of people that doesn't like it at all!

She doesnt mean it as a show off for sure. Just a mechanical move like bouncing the ball to the ground with your palm, etc. Let her of the hook :)

I agree. Everything they do is about concentration, IMO. And the commentators may make too much of the win, because Davis is a US player, but she did hold her composure. I thought Azarenka would take it to 3 on 1 leg, just out of sheer cussedness.

Vika where is your mind? Not only were you playing hurt, but you were racket throwing at your own poor play! Of course, you are going to play poorly injured. And no offense to Davis nor her fans, but it was disgusting how the commentators went on and on about her "big win". And the crowd is so hungry for any American win they were even delighted with the out come! Davis won nothing at all actually. Vika gift wrapped that Match, put a great big bow on it, and gave it to her.

And I remember elsewhere reading where someone had posted that it drove them crazy how Davis did that ball bounce between her legs before she served. At the time I hadn't seen Davis play and I thought what a silly thing to let drive you crazy. But I now agree with them. Maybe Davis doesn't mean it that way, but it looks like a show off move. May be in Jaipur, India.

Why? Please don't be yet another WTA poster that holds a grudge too long over nothing. And who is Davis, so far, to irritate you? :nono

I hope that Vika dosen't attempt to play Miami and give her foot enough time to heal properly.Vika didnt play Miami last year so she has no points to defend.

If it also drives her opponents crazy it's obviously the smart thing to do though.

Anyone who has the oncourt interview with Wozniacki after her match against Jovanovski - I can't see on WTA's homepage because I'm blocked. Put it on You Tube and then put the clip here. It's her 8th time in Indian Wells we just forget she's only 23!

Found it on the official homepage - fun:

Caroline at her best:

Domination starts today. A well rested Maria rolls them all up.

This would be Maria's tournament to lose. With both Serena and Vika
already missing/out, if MS does not win this, she might as well become
para Olympics commentator.

...Julia has looked fairly impressive so far, and with that all around power game, she may just give Maria a stern test. Call me Ruby Tuesday on this but I am going with Julia in an upset.
Julia has looked bad lately, she couldn't get out of the second round in Mexico.
Masha is 3-0 against Julia.
Bold pick there rubydo!

Masha will be tested though!

You cant find an empty seat on the stand at court #4 where Ana plays while most of center court stand is empty in the Chinese match. Thats what I call voting with your feet
3-3 1st set and Svitolina is a tough nut to crack for Ana, just as I predicted on another post
Simona had to fight hard to beat Svitolina in the fed cup.

Svitolina takes 1st set 6-4, Ana in trouble :puzzled
Elina is a hard baseline hitter, same as Annika Beck but a bit better. Both are very solid and cause problems to players like Ana who have less power in their shoots.

I love watching Li Na when her game is on.Great 1st set from Li.Too much power for Zheng.
I think I will switch over to Anna's match now it seems more competitive.

Did anyone see Klara hand over the Czech Tennis torch over to Karolina?

Si, it's time to worry and this time it's for real. Lucie is an old Veteran who knows every trick in the book. I have never seen Lucie the lefty back off to anyone.
This is a real test for Simona.
