Stephens close to victory now up 50. Very impressive in second set - dare I say almost Williams like ;)

It can all go down the drain v Ana ;)
I give Ana a 55% chance against Sloane. An interesting match Sloane v Ana. Sloane has some proving to do.

Alexsandra Wozniak was down 3-5 and facing two set points against her, against Sabine and came back like a hurricane and won the set 7-5!

That match has to be the match of the day ruby.

I lost the 1st set because of wrong time calculation  3-2 2nd set and SImo fights.
Its a good test before the Genie power style. Safarova almost beat Li Na in AUS open !
Watch it Simo! dont let your level drop

The Safarova (not Simona) coach speaking to her in English after she won 2nd set... the best coaching speech I personally heard in my life. note 10 out of 10. He got the situation spot on. Thats exactly what I would have said to Safarova.
I am feeling dizzy now... COMN SIMO !

Lucie turns the match around only to give it away. She always does this. Halep comes through 6-4 in the 3rd

During my Simo match I just got sad (now I am happy of course)...
I was thinking more about Lucie during the match than about my player which I know so well..
I mean... comn Lucie, what the hell? you almost beat LI NA before she won AUS Open...
whats wrong with you Lucie in the sky?... Lucie has tennis worthy of top 5 in the world! BUT... her mental weakness..
Its just sad and maybe even tragic.
I am thinking about her whole career... what might have been if she was mentally tougher
She belongs to the "sleeping beauties" of women tennis. She and Kanepi and Kerber and Lisicki and more..
Those who could have achieved so much more if they had a better mental strength during the "fight".

Well done Simo for winning a match you could very easily lose. I am used to that by now.
Thats what we do... :) :clap a true champion in the real sense of the word.
Simona, I can not see you winning this event because the surface is so slow, but you are doing your job and you are amazing. :)

Who is Safarova's coach? I want him to be Simona's coach. He is a "super coach"
His speech to Lucie after 2nd set was so smart and to the point. I am serious.
God this match was so tough to watch. heart attack.. :puzzled

May I ask why Halep makes a sign of the cross after she wins her matches.Del Potro does the same after he wins?

I am not a religious person myself, but its obvious that she is. I believe she belongs to the Christian Orthodox religion like her family. The family is from an "aromanian" origin who settled in Romania long ago.

"Aromanians" definition in Wikipedia:
"Aromanians, or Vlachs, are a Latin people native throughout the southern Balkans, especially in northern and central Greece, southern Albania, the Republic of Macedonia, south-western Bulgaria, and, as an emigrant community, in Serbia and Romania (Dobrudja)."

Thanks.

Just call me Si. One Si is enough for a male  :D
That was such a tough match for all kinds of reasons... never mind, the result was good.
Simona won in the past matches she could easily lose in which she wasnt clearly the better player.
This was such a match. It will happen again in the future. She cant always look at her best.
