Popsicle wins an epic TB to go a set up against Dodig. Way to go kiddo.

I saw the TB...13-11. Great job by the Canadian.

And he had a poor TB record earlier in the season, but he has turned it around recently.

Popsicle showing off all his colors today Murat. :) That's a good effort as Dodig can be a tough customer. Hopefully he pulls out the win.

Federer actually showed some good stuff against Istomin, who isn't a bum. And Dimitrov is playing really well. I'm hoping to see a high quality match.

By the way, does anyone know if Fed is playing with the larger frame he tinkered with before the USO?

From what I've heard he has unfortunately stuck it out with the old stick.

For some reason I find myself equating Pospisil and Delbonis. Don't know why - maybe because of their similar age and, perhaps, similar upside?

I wish I could watch Grigor and Roger. Maybe this is the equivalent of that 2001 Sampras-Federer match. No, I'm not expecting Grigor to be anywhere on the same level as Roger or Pete, but I can't help myself.

Anyhow, I'm predicting Grigor wins it in a tight three-set match.

The way the next generation is looking, Dimitrov might win as many slams as Sampras or Federer. If that happens, I bet people will say he's as good as them. I mean, if a hack (apart from his serve) like Raonic is considered a future great, lol, I like Dimitrov's chances of absolutely dominating the future. Although I think Nadal will hold him off for a few more years, and then we'll see how many prime years Dimitrov has left and how weak the era is. No matter how weak the era is, if Dimitrov dominates the slams, he'll get Federer-type credibility because people will say Dimitrov is a genius/artist because of his style of play. They may even call him 'the new and improved Federer' if his backhand is better.

I am not sure who considers Milos a "future great" , but I know he is not a "hack" . The pusher in the club who plays once a week is a hack. Milos has a better forehand and a better volley than the vast majority of the players in the top 100. And probably one of the best serves in the game.

Federer doesn't look very good right now at 3 all in the first set but Dimitrov is maybe too nervous or too in awe to take advantage.

Wake me up when Dimitrov shows 1/100th the promise in NadalRG2005's post. It isn't too late for him to become a great player but I'd be shocked if he suddenly morphs into the next big force. He just won his first Mickey Mouse tournament last week. You need more than just an aesthetically pleasing game...

Rog breaks and takes the opener 6-3. His BH seems to be holding up better than the baby's.

Not sure why he's being so stubborn with that old 90 incher. It's not like his results justify sticking with that old thing.

Double fault on a break point. I have seen Roger do this a couple times recently.

Yep. And it's likely going to cost him the 2nd set.

We're in a breaker. Fed is up 5-1 at the changeover and I have to leave work right now. Will check the scores on my train, but I assume Fed will not give back all these points and win.
