Pospisil played a solid tiebreak to take it to a third set. Call me crazy, but I still think Roger will win.

Come on Vasek, You need those first serves in! Otherwise you are doing good!

He is doing very well. It can't be easy facing Roger in Basel, on an indoor hard court no less. I want Roger to win, but I'll be happy for Pospisil if he wins. I like him too much to get angry at him.

Roger was up two breaks in the second?

It would be a breakthrough for Pospisil if he can close this one out. The young guns aren't actually very young any more. The previous generation of Nadal, Murray, Djoker, all had clipped prime Fed somewhere along the way, I think Murray was only 17 when he did, and I know Rafa was. These "youngsters" like Dimitrov and Raonic can't even clip a Fed in his 30s... :nono

Not too surprising. Popsicle is playing like a top 20 player recently and Roger hasn't won 4 matches in a row since Halle.

Vasek needs a coach to teach him how to serve. His % is terrible:cry

I hadn't thought of it that way before, but that's crazy. :speechless:

Roger needs to show he can still play tennis at some point before the end of the year. If he doesn't I don't see a magic transformation in 2014, at least not until much later in that season. A loss here is absolutely pathetic if it happens.

What do you think? Who's going to win? I'm not sure at this point. It could go either way.

Just put it on. I think Pospisil might stay strong in the clutch and win this one...

Not a good enough approach. Too obvious and didn't limit Fed's options too successfully...

Yeah, that was out. Great game that one. Federer was hitting some magnificent backhands to box Pospisil off...

Gutsy win by Fed. Just what the Doctor ordered. I still think Juan takes the tournament.

Congrats, Roger! Great effort to stay focussed late in the third.

At the same time, I feel bad for Pospisil. He played a terrific third set, and came oh-so-close to beating Federer in Switzerland.
