I just can't believe Nole did not accept the invite. He should be there. that being said, Delpo should win this, unless Roger catches fire again.

Nole needs to rest and charge batteries for Paris-London-DC final. That is more than enough in a row.

ESPN3.com begins its coverage tomorrow. These are really high quality streams (as you'd expect from espn), and is free on many internet providers without having cable, and is always free if you have cable.

I agree that it would have been short-sighted of Nole to play Basel for the points, given what else is at stake, and what DC means to him.

Thanks for the intel on that, RB.

I was checking out today's order of play, and noticed this on Court 2:

Carlos Berlocq (ARG) v Ivan Dodig (CRO)

Denis Istomin (UZB) v Horacio Zeballos (ARG)

Michael Llodra (FRA) / Nicolas Mahut (FRA) v Juan Sebastian Cabal (COL) / Robert Farah (COL)

Daniel Brands (GER) v [7] Andreas Seppi (ITA)

Daniel Nestor (CAN) / Vasek Pospisil (CAN) v Denis Istomin (UZB) / Horacio Zeballos (ARG)

They face off in singles, then play doubles. It's interesting when that happens. I wonder what the chemistry will be like for doubles, having played singles first. And such an odd pairing. I don't remember them ever playing doubles before.

I agree. The quality of their coverage is excellent.

One note: the URL is http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index

But you should be redirected there if you type in espn3.com.

I'm going to go with the unpopular choice of Federer playing himself into some form. Maybe wishful thinking, but it's indoors after all.

And in front of his home crowd. He'll want to succeed here.

It is very difficult to see Federer beating DP or Berdych at this moment, but those matches need to happen for us to see it I guess. I'm also going for the Fedster, because it is always nice to see a little come-back.

Tennis is a fun sport. On one hand you got guys making the final of almost everything they enter. On the other hand you got the most shocking of upsets known to man (or Stan the man). Great variety in the world of tennis. Probably because the mind is so firmly linked with tennis performance. And the mind is a highly variable thing. Other sports, less reliant on the mind. Except for golf....but golf is man versus golf course, not man versus man so much.

He is a funny dude. There was an article somewhere where he was talking about how Isner's height grew an inch and caught up to him and he was upset and he upgraded his height by inch as well, to stay the tallest player...Just funny overall. I like the guy.

Karlovic has overcome some tremendous physical odds to be here today. What victory for the underdog. He is an inspiration for all those who don't measure up physically or measure up too much.

Oh yeah, I always forget. When I started using it, it was espn3 and since auto-redirects, I never bothered to learn the new name. Mind you I think it has been watchespn for like 3 or 4 years.

This draw is starting to open up nicely for Federer. He really needs to get something going here so he can build some confidence. I doubt he ready to win the WTF (if he qualifies) and Paris, but a strong showing here could make a big difference.

Fed may have to face his baby (No, not Myla or Charlene) in QF and Baby just
learned to walk (won first ATP 250).
