King lobbies for 'better calendar,' combined Cups

Billie Jean King wants the groups with a say in the tennis schedule to avoid potential conflicts such as the close timing and far distance between the WTA Finals and Billie Jean King Cup Finals. She's also in favor of combining the BJK Cup and Davis Cup.

I'm glad BJK is speaking out about this. You all know my stance on this by now: Move the WTA Finals to late September (closer to the US Open), and the BJK Cup can be held to begin a new season in November. Problem solved!

Points from Guadalajar and the 2022 Fort Worth WTA Finals will drop tomorrow Monday 23rd October,

Garcia No 10 will drop to No 20, is hurt the most, dropping from the Top 10 to barely make the Top 20, because she won the WTA Finals last year and didnt qualify this year.
Sakkari No 6 drops to No 9, drops 1,230 points from Guadalajara and Fort Worth, cant get them back unless someone withdraws from Cancun and gets in as an alternative.

Players that improved their ranking in the last couple of weeks ( Asia circuit)
Leylah Fernandez was No 43 new ranking of No 35,
2 great weeks for the Canadian, made the Nanchang SFs, she gained 26 spots in the last 2 weeks in Asia, ( could be headed with Taylor Townsend as an alternate in the doubles with Taylor Townsend)
Taylor Townsend No 80 new ranking of No 66,
Winning ITF in Macon, Georgia which put her ranking just 5 off her career high, Taylor's decision to skip Asia and focus on getting points on the ITF circuit at home has paid off and she has another WTA125 in Tampico this coming week, after which she'll have to skip Midland to be a doubles alternative in Cancun.

Venus Williams, will not be ready in time for the AO in 2024, still recovering from an sustained injury from Wimbledon, but plans to make a comeback on home soil in Spring, in time for the North American tournaments IW and Miami.

There are break up rumors that Naomi Osaka is a single mum, her recent instagram captions hint that she and her BF and baby daddy Cordae are going through a rough patch or have broken up ( Osaka's instagram account no longer features any pictures of the pair together).
Osaka currently on maternity leave is planning to return to the WTA Tour in January 2024.

Angie Kerber has confirmed she will represent Germany in the United Cup December 29- Jan 7th 2024, alongside Alexander Zverev. then she will head to play in the WTA500 Adelaide International Jan 8-13 2024.
