From Angie Kerber ( via The Tennis Letter)

" I will return when the new season starts with the goal of playing AO 2024. This includes the preparatory events in January, maybe United Cup for Germany.Returning to the Slam in Melbourne would be a dream"

Elena Rybakina and Linda Fruhvirtova have withdrawn from Rothesay International, Eastbourne,
As to the next to be seeded Krejcikova moves into line 1 replacing Rybakina and LL Martic and Martincova fill the vacant spots in the draw

Rybakina still not getting over the virus she had in Paris, this does put a cloud over her defence at Wimbledon which starts July 3

Donna Vekic has withdrawn from Bad Homburg, I am not surprised given she played a final yesterday in Berlin against Kvitova, Donna has played a couple of grass tournaments before Wimbledon and has found her grass game nicely, have a rest Donna!
Podoroska will replace Vekic in the draw

Mark Philippoussis was spotted working with Maria Sakkari in Berlin, Sakkari is still working with long time coach Tom Hill. The Poo might have joined as an extra for the grass season or might be a part of the team ( Stef Tsitsipas had hired Mark as an extra coach, though they have parted ways)
There has been no formal announcement from Sakkari or Philippoussis

American Vavara Lepchenko's doping ban for a use of a banned stimulant has been reduced from 4 years to 21 months
The agreement was reached after Lepchenko appealed her suspension, her appeal to CAS was based on a later finding, in a travel bag, a bottle of capsules that was deterrmind to contain the substance for which was tested positive- an ingredient that was not listed on the bottle label
According to the ITF news release Friday, Lepchenko and the ITF agreed that she committed a violation, she will be ineligible to compete for 21 months and that her penalty will run from August 2021, time of her most recent match, and will expire this May.2023.

What happened to A Parks . Yeah Miss Lil Bit is a good player but No one should be able to break that serve of Miss Parks that many times in straight sets . Grass is the ultimate eliminator.

I too was surprised with that result, Parks has a great first serve, though of late her results have been sub par

Yo Margaret Coco has found a new coach .
Yes I read that, her coach was previously coaching the Chinese player Q. Zheng, watched Coco's match today improved effort from her previous match on grass
Coco and Jess also won their doubles match yesterday

I hope she doesn't get on this rollercoaster of hiring and firing coaches willy nilly.
