I don’t see Patrick going back to coaching Halep. I think it is a shame to have happen at this juncture of her career. It could really seal the fate of any hope to returning to the top.

Aryna Sabalenka will be the only WTA player to finish the year with more than 400 double faults ( I dont know if her biomechanic specialist she hired to help her serve has made an impact as yet ).

Patrick M had already jumped ship when she had her nose surgery in September, to ocach Rune, before Halep was suspended for doping,, I seriously doubt he will coach Halep, even if her doping allegation is over turned. Actually I thought when Serena retired, Patrick M would coach Coco Gauff...

I think that would require Coco to diminish her parents role, and I don’t think she is ready to do that quite yet unfortunately to the detriment of her development.

We are all in agreement here at TF Coco needs to let go of her parents as her coach, agree at present it does not look like she is ready to get another coach.

I disagree. Coco made the French Open final and a deep run at the US Open this year. She has a good thing going, so why mess with it. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. We all saw what happened when Capriati after she cut ties with her team in the summer of 93.

Coco's father, like Stefano Capriati, is a great parent coach. I feel that if Coco were to let go of her father as coach, she won't be as good.

We will have to disagree, Coco has a big technical problem on her fhand for starters, she is late on that wing, she
swaps at it. If you notice most players attack her fhand wing, it was soo evident when Iga routed her just recently.A good coach will be able to correct her fhand wing, her parents have not been about to do that, she needs a good coach to take her to the next level.Wim Fissette is available and I think he would be an excellent coach for Coco, he is an excellent coach

Tursunov on splitting with Raducanu,

" I was walking away from Emma regardless of whether there was another ( player) available or not. We didnt agree on the terms and there were some red flags that couldn't be ignored".

Emma Raducanu is just the latest example of why young players shouldn't change coaches just because they can. Raducanu should go back to Nigel Sears or Andrew Richardson.

Bianca Andreescu and her coach of 1 year, Sven Groeneveld , have parted. Bianca will need to find a coach in a hurry for the pre season training

Another player looking for a new coach, Caroline Garcia and her coach Bertrand Perret have parted. ( I guess it is the time of the year for some players and coaches to part ways.)

lol, this is starting to get out of hand. The WTA needs to limit how many times a player can part ways with their coach over a certain period time (say once in any 2-year period or twice in any 5-year period), kind of like how they already cap the number of tournaments a player under 17 can enter.

Players parting ways with coaches too frequently is hurting the quality of the women's game.

I am not surprised at this time of the year players and coaches parting, WTA players seem to part ways with their coaches than their ATP counterparts, by the way we do not really know why the players and their coaches parted, unless they talk to the media with the real reason why they parted.
Though I was quite surprised the parting of Garcia and her coach Perret, after years of having her father as her coach, she finally cut the strings of her father, who took her game nowhere. Garcia has a great all court game, and is also a great doubles player, teaming up with Kiki. Garcia won 3 titles this year, had a great HC series, got to the s/finals of the USO and is now playing in Texas in the WTA finals,
God forbid she goes back to her father in 2023 :)

At present Iga has no player to rival her, her game suits all surfaces, if she stays healthy, does not over play I will pick Iga.
I don't know enough about the WTF, but do you think Coco Gauff has the talent to be her main rival? And any chance Osaka makes a comeback? A few years ago, she seemed lined up to be the next great player, but it is sad how she fell off (I'm a bit familiar with the mental issues involved).

I should probably be asking this in the other forum.

Iga routed Coco in San Diego a couple of weeks ago, Coco won 3 games, Coco has some technical flaws in her game which needs to be addressed, a new coach, I feel can address and take her to the next level. On Osaka's present game No, her game has fallen off big time

Probably Iga. Reasons:
1. She's already comfortable playing as the #1 player. Carlito has to learn to sustain his level now that he wears a target on his back.
2. Let's see how 2023 unfolds. I do think a couple of players are closer. They will challenge Iga next year and possibly develop the blueprint against her game.
3. Coco has a bit of work to do to be able to even compete on Iga's level let alone defeat her. As Margaret said, she's got technical deficiencies, but additionally I would like to see better point construction, patience and belief to win a slam or beat the current #1. The girl is 18. She'll get there, but how long it will take is anyone's guess.
4. They say never count out a champion, but I'm thinking Naomi-me-me is done winning big titles. Even if she somehow got her head on straight, made the commitment to train, practice and travel, the current top 20 are well-equipped to counter her game. It will be a very tough road to hoe.
