I'm always sorry to see Sakkari go out, but good for Shelby.Shelby Rogers in good HC form defeats the No 1 seed Maria Sakkari in San Jose 61 63
yep. 2 years ago Coco would probably have given the lead away, but I don't see that happening anymoreOsaka woke up. Too late?
Indeed. Without it, it looked like we might have had a fight. Osaka too out of match shape. I'd love to see her back and caring about the game. Maybe NoAm HC swing and she'll be up for it. Meanwhile, go Coco!there it is. Definitely helps to have that insurance break, doesn't it?
Yep. That was my point earlier. When you're away like she was, it's harder to come back and be slam ready. Not to mention, she lost a ton of points and her ranking suffered. Now she's more likely to run into an inform player earlier than she would like.Indeed. Without it, it looked like we might have had a fight. Osaka too out of match shape. I'd love to see her back and caring about the game. Maybe NoAm HC swing and she'll be up for it. Meanwhile, go Coco!
she's mature beyond her years.Intense and wonderful on-court speech from Coco...good for her!
And after all these years, she's still barely 18. I think she gets to #10 in the world with this win... NCH.she's mature beyond her years.
