After splitting with Sasha Bajin, Karolina Pliskova has teamed up with Leos Friedl, who stepped in last year at the USO when Sasha Bajin had visa issues on board. As yet no information if this is a permanent coaching arrangement

Maybe preparing for an early defeat at the Rogers will guarantee her at least one more match before USO.
Actually I am surprised she is playing both, though maybe she finally listened to us,as she cannot turn up to play a major without playing a warm up tournament. ( now 2)

Clarification regarding Osaka's strength and conditioning coach,
Osaka parted with her fitness coach Daniel Pohl, who has only been with her for a few months.Polh had replaced Yutuka Nakamura who Naomi parted with back in April ( who is now the fitness trainer for Denis Shapo).

Pera on an incredible eleven match winning streak, I think it will end tomorrow against Kontaveit. I am just curious as to what prompted this resurgence in her form? It is a shame it wasn't evident at the time of the FO, considering all the random GS champs we have had in the past several years you never know.

Interested to see how Pera will perform once the tour shifts to North America? She'll now have direct entrance into the US Open so......who knows????

Konta2? I never thought of her that way, but this entertaining. Television commentators are mentioning she has alot of points to defend so it's good she has found her form.

Some people called her Konta lite when she first came on the tour. I always thought of her as Konta2 because the original Konta was in the top 10 at that time.

Actually I am surprised that Kontaveit is doing well on clay, though I am happy she has made a final, she has been struggling to get over COVID
